Most of us love Forge. This thread has many right ideas. But why not incorporate this?

Let us use what PC users have been using for years, an actual map creator. The process would work like this. First you would download a software app that lets you convert Halo: Reach maps to a file that you can edit. Once you're download you can save it to your computer and upload it to Bungie.net. You can then re-download it to Halo: Reach. Play.

Now I may not be Mr. Computer Know-It-All, but could this work? Would you use it?

Too complicated. I would much prefer something like the Far cry 2 map editor. Which is basically the same thing, but everything is done in game. It works pretty well. The only problem with map editors is that an extremely small portion of community content is ever worth playing. Despite that it's still worth the ones that are incredibly well made.

I think i remember a weekly update saying that they couldnt do a terrain editor or a lot of the things from the PC version. I'm not an expert or anything but i recall them saying it was impossible

Its a good idea, plus people would have to invest more effort into making the map so you wont be flooded with a bunch of horrible ones.

But I think instead Bungie will just add some simple landscaping tools for us to use, and hopefully a way to make animated objects. But I doubt either of these will happen because it requires alot of load time to make everyone have the same map. Currently you only have to load the objects on the map , which is alot less data. So I think the loading is a big issue here

I would love that.

I would cut it down, and have the resources available off of a launch able program on B.net. You edit it, then save it. It takes up space in your fileshare.....Seems like a lot of work to make a map, and I can't say I would use it. But the Machinima crowds would love it, as would MLG types and probably just people fiddling around to make the perfect "Race" map.

I think this has the potential to be super popular.
