Subject: Firefight in Reach too?

From the latest Breaking in article....

"If you need a recently announced, all new gametype prototyped for Halo 3: ODST, that's me too."

Prototyped? That usually means it's a test, or early design. Does this mean we might get Firefight in Reach?

i'm awesome

Bungie certainly can't take it out of the franchise. It's probably going to end up being a staple, along with Saved Films. And I doubt they'll pull a Call of Duty and replace it with "Special Forces: SPARTAN-II edition".

Made an account in 2006. Visited Bungie.net in 2005. Joined Xbox Live in 2005. It's amazing to see how the site, Bungie, and Halo have evolved over the years. Utterly amazing.

If it work well, it shall be in Reach.

Although I agree with you, I don't think you should just expect Saved Films to be in Reach since it's something that takes up a lot of the power of the 360 and I'd rather want (even) better graphics in Reach then a Theater mode. Forge, however, might come back as Forge 2.0.

You are kidding right? Saved films are great!

If only 360 used Bluray, we wouldn't have the problem of lack of space.

Anyway, if Firefight was in Reach what would you want in it?

Loyalty is all I have.

if saved films are already confirmed for ODST it isn't a big leap to assume that it will be in Reach as well

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

I don't see why they would take a step down and remove previous game modes, except of course if Firefight absolutely crashes, but I doubt that will happen.

I think so, provided it is popular and a welcome edition which I think it will be.

Just how Modern Warefare 2 has a similar gametype after World at War introduced it and Gears of War 3 will have horde again no doubt.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

If Horde and -blam!- Zombies became so popular then I have no doubt that Firefight will be even more so. So my answer is probably a yes!

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

A good point! I already assumed that Firefight would return in some fashion to Reach regardless, but I also did find that word peculiar in context with an almost-finished game.

I don't see why a Theater Mode would impact the graphics of the game. All Theater Mode does is re-interpret a completed game's code into visuals for us, and while the system may be complex, when not in use, it certainly shouldn't impact the 360 that much during actual gameplay since said code is very small in size and easy to store.

Signatures are for squares.

I'm sure it will return, Halo has always needed a survival mode, and now that we have it, I'm sure Bungie won't get rid of it.

You're probably right, I don't know why I said that. I just thought that if all the ingame aspects were even bigger, it would be harder to get track of the game and create the data for a Saved Film (like with Campaign). But I have nothing to base that on, so I apologize for bringing this up.
