It seems to me that there should be a summary just to bring it up to speed.
Most saying $100 mean $60 (USD) for ODST, not the $100 Controller Bundle.
And people that are taking it personally, stop already. Microsoft and Bungie are both US companies that and $ <- USD symbol as well could make anyone mistake which currency you're referring to. ODST Costs $100 (AUS), $60 (USD) There, stop bringing up the subject.
Now there are several different views to the pricing of odst, to make it easier maybe someone should write them down. <_< ok I guess I will. There are as many opinions as there are people so I'll just write down the most apparent ones. (Or that I can think of, feel free to add any other that you see.)
A: Some see ODST as nothing more than a glorified standalone DLC disk(s). Obviously many wouldn't want to pay so much for what they consider as DLC. Either way both Bungie and Microsoft are in a position to profit from this price point.
B: Many are PO'd that they have gotten every other DLC for Halo 3 up to date and basically have to repurchase them for ODST. (Guilty at being biased for same reason) The easiest way to circumvent this would be to offer a discount for those who already own most of the DLC for Halo 3, but of course any attempt to do so would be extremely difficult to keep track of. Except maybe a version without the Halo 3 multiplayer Disk, and then offer Mythic Pt. 2 as DLC.
C: The perhaps most positive outlook is that those who haven't bought anything Halo 3 related at all, will receive Halo 3(without campaign) multiplayer, every single DLC up til now + Mythic Pt. 2, (Which again many fans have already bought and have to rebuy, still PO'd) , firefight, etc. This is great for those who are barely entering the world of H3.
D: Now for the Fanboys; Anything Halo related is awesome, I'll continue to support the franchise no matter what. It's definitely going to kick @$$ (USD)
E: The most logical argument of them all.
For $60, you get.
All of H3 Multiplayer DLC
New Campaign, new Halo content in general.
Fire Fight, if you pre-ordered (Play as Sgt. Johnson)
Beta-Play invite for Reach
The Elusive Recon Armor (Through Achievements), It will lose rep. value of course.
{As of yet unannounced news}
That seems worth $60 to me.
*I tried to represent each point as unbiased as I could*
Ok, now that most sides have had equal representation, let the argument continue. ^^
