Why would we need to pry open a drop pod is there ammo or a squad mate in it? Stop the video at 1:28 secs to see what i mean and read it.

It could be either some evidence or a member of the squad trapped but not killed.

A squad mate would likely be dead or dying in an unopened pod, because it's either unopened because the ODST died, or because it is damaged. If it's damaged too much, the occupant will likey be dead.

However, it may also contain a clue, and ammunition. Seeing as the pod was seen in daylight, I know it was in a flashback, and therefore it will probably be for freeing another ODST, possibly a squad member of Dare's squad.

So, it's either an ammo pod, a pod with a dead ODST, or a pod with a squadmate who needs help.

OR you need to find an X amount of drop-pots to unlock an achievement, like halo3's Terminals.
