Subject: Reach is NOT the planet at the end of Halo 3

Reasons why

1) At the end of Halo, it shows a mechanical world, and if you read the books, you would know that Reach is NOT mechanical. Its actually much like Earth
2) The Ark and Reach are thousands of Light Years apart. How do I know? The Ark is outside of the Milky Way, and Reach is an Inner Colony world, closer to Earth. So in order for the Chief to go from the Ark to Reach he has to not only travel through time, but in addition travel many many many light years to get to Reach. So It is very unlikely that he time traveled.

Now a more practical explanation of the world at the end of Halo 3 (not Reach) would be Onyx. Why Onyx? Because Onyx is the "shield world" That the Forerunners would resort to if the rings has fired (as i remember). And Onyx took on a "mechanical appearance" and activated after Installation 04 was prepared to fire. So that would explain the relation between the Halo 3 world and Onyx.

So really when has Bungie EVER had time travel? And why include it at the end of Halo. And even if it WERE time travel, how would Chief had time traveled when he never even went through the portal?
Just needed to be though through some more

Actually, Onyx would not be much more practical at all. Onyx's biological and mechanical surfaces and layers exploded at the end of GoO. The only thing remaining is a giant lattice of sentinels, whose described patterns do not mimic those seen in the Legendary Ending.

Yes, I meant the world that Halsey and the remaining Spartans were "teleported" to. My mistake

Still fits better than reach though. Personally I doubt it's either but there you go.

In fact I wish they'd not spoiled what would have been a great ending by slapping that cliffhanger on the end.

In Halo: Reach, the blockbuster prequel to the Halo trilogy, experience the events that transpired on the planet Reach. Created by acclaimed developer Bungie, Halo: Reach will be available in the fall of 2010 exclusively on Xbox 360. As a bonus for Halo fans, Halo 3: ODST will be the key to entry for the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta coming to Xbox LIVE.

so it is guaranteed not the planet at the end of Halo 3 because it is a prequel game

I don't want to come off like I'm shooting down everything, but you also have to consider that the world that Halsey and the remaining Spartans were teleported to was a hollowed "bowl-shaped" structure. In addition, Halsey notes that the world resides in a slipspace bubble of compressed dimensionality, which would make the world appear to be only a few meters in diameter to the outside world. We clearly see it to be millions of times that size in the Legendary Ending, so I think it's safe to assume that if it is a shield world, which I'm not convinced of, it definitely isn't Halsey's.

In theory if he were to time travel, and I'm not saying he did, he could be near reach because of the expansion and moving of the parts of the universe so that location in that time could be the same location as the ark at the end of halo 3. It does sound rather like onyx though.

yeah the time travel thing is dumb.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Can we please never ever mention anything to do with time travel, Onyx and likewise ever again? That would be nice...

well, because the ring pushed Cheif away, it very much could have been Reach. It seems to look alot like it, and when the covenent Glassed the planet they could have made it look that way in the many years to come.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

The 2 planets are NOT the same.

I dont know why people keep trying to similarize them. They have nothing in common!

"OMG THEY ARE BOTH ROUND! THEY HAVE TO BE THE SAME! LOL TIME TRAVEL LOL!!11!1!"

no...go slam ur head in a desk if you belive that nonsense.

But I'm sure that the universe doesn't expand That quickly, considering the fact that the fall of Reach and the explosion of the ark were like barely months apart. And I doubt that in months the universe could spread 10s of thousands of lightyears

That could be, but then Cortana could've easily contacted Earth from there

True, I'm unsure of the rate of it but I don't think it's a matter of light years in a few months, it also depends on the distance between. Although I thought reach was a long time before the halo events?
