In Halo 3 multiplayer, the ODST visor is Gold, yet in Halo 3 ODST it's Grey. If they wanted to spice up the Character and make them more "heroey", couldn't they just add Gold?

Grey = Boring.

Gold = Exciting.

My troll sense is tingling.

Gold visor is for Spartans, this is ODSTs. Clue's in the title. Plus the grey is for stealth purposes.

Spartan= Gold

ODST= Blue-grey

I am prepared for SOME explosions, thanks to EOD.

Yeah, I thought the visor was blue, and that blue visor is more epic than the gold one.

Oh, so Spartans get Gold because they're special? Ok.

Somehow that doesn't persuade me.

PEANUT-BUTTER SLAP!

It's always grey in the campaign. Besides, unless you're going to be playing the game with a mirror in front of your character, what difference does it make?

That would totally ruin the reason an ODST is black and gray...

And the reason it's gold in mutliplayer is that your not an ODST, your a spartan.

If you knew anything about Halo, you would know that ODSTs have always had blue/gray visors, not gold. All the visors in Halo 3's multiplayer are gold because you're a Spartan, not an ODST. In Halo 3: ODST we're playing the part of an ODST. They're people, not super soldiers.

isnt the gold color against the sunlight ? because some firefighter helmets have have a gold part that u can slide over the regular 1and it works like shades
(used in places with lots of bright fire)
and since odst's are mostly stealth missions they get grey ?

IB. The bane of my existence.

All Spartan visors are gold to keep a consistency between all armor permutations in Halo 3 multiplayer. In ODST, the character is an actual ODST, not a Spartan with a "custom" helmet.
