Very interesting concept Cheehwawa, although you know some idiots going to create a dual wieldable sniper that is insta kill and fire 24 rounds per second...
Apart from eight years old screwing around and pissing us off, this is a great idea and I hope Bungie takes a look at this.

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. I mean if Bungie is intending to put more power into the hands of the players through Forge, this would be another step in the right direction.

yea actually I think instead of having 2 gauss hogs 2 transport hogs and 4 regular hogs, they should just give us 8 warthogs and then we can choose which style we want.

That was just a joke weapon,like on soulcalibur you have items that look like swords and pikes. The maps however are canon,why? Because they have a backstory. THE ARMORS AND MAPS IN MULTIPLAYER ARE CANON. But that weapon? Yes that was just for laughs,plus it's just a reskinned gravity hammer..
And you didn't get my point,I never mentioned s**t about gravity on Halo 3's multiplayer.

This is a neat idea. The only thing I can add is that the restrictions should only be for framerate purposes, not for "balance" purposes. If somebody wants to make an instant-kill automatic super-ranged scoping dual-wieldable weapon, let 'em. Doesn't mean it's gonna be in anyone else's game.

The only input I have is that I'd make some settings in an Advanced Options subset of the properties. Options that people making quick tweaks don't want to have to deal with.

But I like this idea. Forerunner tech works well because -- I hope -- there's no forerunner weaponry in the next game; it's all on the planet Reach, where there's no Sentinels, no Enforcers, or anything as such. It'd work well.

I like the idea,
I would like to see something like that,
With its limitations it would be perfect.
As long as the changes had a visible difference and were in moderation.
It sounds like a very good, sound idea, if its used in unison with a forge '2.0' its could just be the greatest combination in the world.
Especially for infection, being able to tone down and change weapons, perfect for the map would just be...
...godly.

You realize that this thread is about weapons? Not ARMORS AND MAPS IN MULTIPLAYER.
Gravity settings does have to do with it, because it's non-canonical that Earth would have 3 times the gravity it really has.

Your post was completely irrelevant, almost as if you posted in a different thread.
And what facts exactly did he get wrong?

I say yes, since no one gives a -blam!- about balance in customs.

So it's basically like a much more customized version of gametypes and powerups? (Headshot, Ammunition, Shots, Melee, Headshot Bonus, Shield/Health Damage Modifier, Projectile Damage).

The only thing i would enjoy this for would be Dual Needlers again/H1 Pistol/H2 BR. After the game has lost its mainstream popularity, it would just keep it down because you would find kids going on and making Dual-wield rockets and whatnot.
Much like how H1:PC is today, with all the no-shield shotguns/rockets games on there.

It's a decent idea, but i think it would cause more harm then good in the long run.

Simple solution: don't play those customs. REACH will undoubtably have an MM system, so it wouldn't be a problem at all.

if bungie really went with this idea, they should look at borderlands custom weapon system and design one like it. supposedly you can make millions of different guns. i personally want to make all types of weapons, not just forerunner.

borderlands is supposed to have a vehicle editor too.

If you let me make a plasma pistol that shoots at a speed equal speed of a sniper, and has a charge time like the Lazer (2 seconds perhaps?). However it would need less ammo, maybe a battery for 10 shots? If I could do all that, then I would finally have my proper assist weapon.

edit: (no small bursts like the plasma pistol, think more along the lines of a shield draining torque bow).

I don't think you understand me. You know Forge? You can place a yellow "Custom Powerup" on the map, and then you can edit its statistics for custom games.

This is essentially what Im asking for (only the weapons would be edited in forge, possibly, instead of custom game options). Put some generic (new) forerunner-themed weapons whose only purpose is for us to edit what they shoot (i.e. shotgun buckshot, plasma, green plasma, green needler rounds, etc.), how powerful they are, etc. so we can make weapons.
I think it would be cool if we saved the weapons as their own file. You could make it a starting weapon in your custom games, and place it on your maps w/o having to remake it over and over again. Imagine downloading a weapon from you friends fileshare!

I don't know about editing the function of the weapons, but I would be all for bungie releasing a program that would allow you to use a transfer cable and a free computer program to edit weapon skins and use them on MM and Campaign, just to add customization without unbalancing anything.
