Ok, so you are saying the following makes sense? "I am a faithful fan of Bungie's with no faith in them." THAT MAKES SENSE?

No, faithful fan has faith. Normal fan can have faith or no faith, but not a FAITHFUL fan.

You just said a faithful fan never feels cheated. When in fact all faithful fans feel cheated all the time. I feel cheated for many things halo 3 lacked. Elephants in the campaign, that -blam!- prowler replacing the amazing spectre, the campaign seriously lacking the feel of a halo campaign to be replaced with a multiplayer based game. I feel cheated, but I've been a fan since 2001, and am still a fan. Doesn't mean I don't think they've f'ed up once or many times down the line. I still have a bit of faith that they'll fix their mistakes (AND HOPEFULLY GET RID OF EVERY GUNS MELEE LUNGE AND BRING BACK HALO 1 MELEE.)
Ok, you are a fan. Not a faithful fan. A faithful fan has faith.

Bungie said the viewed Halo 3: ODST as a $40 game. Microsoft, you know the owner of Halo now and the publisher, disagrees. Combine this with an extended campaign, Firefight Mode, an invite to the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, and every Halo 3 map. Its stupid to think that Bungie could change the price of anything if they wanted to. Anyone know about Valve? Half-Life creators. They have a PC and 360 version of The Orange Box. They come with a game called TF2. On the PC, TF2 gets multiple updates and weapons/maps. Not so on the Xbox. Why? Microsoft wants to charge for the updates. Valve is easily the most fan-friendly company out there. If they can't price things for their games, what makes Bungie able?

  • 06.13.2009 2:53 PM PDT

Holy f***ing asscrackers on f***ing toast!

Okay, I'm gonna' take it that you never read my post. I said I have FAITH that they'll fix their mistakes, if that isn't a faithful fan, then what the hell is? You and me have different termonolgy of fan and slave my friend.

Feeling ripped off about the price, no matter how ridiculous that may be, does not make you unfaithful. Therefore your whole faithful spiel makes no sense.

Unless of course you have REAL faith in Bungie, and the fact that they'll deliver an awesome new game worthy of the pricing. If you had no faith in Bungie, you'd be left doubting how much the game should be overpriced.

Seriously. Every game is around $60, why the hell should ODST make a difference? Not even just that, but we're getting so much -even without the new MP maps!

If you're hesitating due to the pricing, simply don't buy it... simple as that. -blam!-ing about it gets you nowhere, and Bungie doesn't give a damn about the few insignificant whiners.

Maybe you should just wait a few months into 2010 too buy a priced-down copy.

I hope that's sarcastic, but since I can't tell.....

No matter how awesome, some of these people still wouldn't feel the price is justified. That doesn't make you unfaithful, it just makes you stupid for complaining about getting plenty of content for the basic price.

Just because you make a true statement, like, "You have to have faith to be faithful" doesn't mean that statement has any basis in this thread. I'm saying your faithful/faithless statement has no basis in this thread. Just a random statement. I read when you first said it and I don't think it makes any sense within the context of this thread.

The thread is complaining about the price of a game, and in my opinion that has no bearing on whether your a faithful fan or not.

Show me where he said that in the OP. I think, and I've said this the whole time, that your taking his complaining about the price as being unfaithful. I disagree. (I do agree he's an idiot though)

EDIT: I hope the guy above me gets banned. People need to report morons who post like that.

Depends on which kind of faith you're defining.

What I was trying to get across was whether or not these people 'trusted' Bungie. Do you trust Bungie will deliver a great disc that you'll enjoy and find yourself playing for a while?

The first H2 MP expansion pack was... what, 8 new maps? And it sold for $20 out on it's own disc? People weren't complaining about that.

If you're going to complain about the pricing of the game... you've got alternatives either way. Wait until the price drops after a few months, or just not buy it. Agreeable?

no it makes me a faithful fan that feels cheated
No, a faithful fan doesn't feel cheated, he supports the company and agrees with them.

You guys should just donate to charity instead of wasting you money being a fan for a video game company. You would actually improve the world.

And no this game isn't worth $60 unless you haven't purchased the maps. I will just buy it on Ebay for $30 3 months after release.

bingie wanted a lower price but most of u think its all bungies fault and they tried a lower price but micro$oft loves money

true but if bungie wanted to change the price they could've
No, they can't. MS is the publisher. The publisher controls all.

No you guys are flat out wrong. Microsoft reduced the price on the Gears of War add on for people who already had the map packs. They could do something similar for ODST>

i will if bungie spares its fans the overpriced expansion

How many more times would you like us to tell you that Bungie has no control over the price before you stop pretending we're lying and/or not posting it?

youre right this thread is a fail. i now realize that the majority of halo fans are gullible tools that will pay any ammount of money for and expansion pack as long as bungie says its fair

Large free roam campaign
Firefight with multiple maps
3 matchmaking maps
The chance to earn recon

I would pay $60 for all of the above. If you don't like the price, you don't have to buy it. Simples. It isn't going to changed so please stop.

Epic changed the Gears of War Dark Corners price, please stop saying that.

Anyways I will purchase this on Ebay For $30 to $40. Primarily Single Player expansions reduce price on Ebay fast. In fact i may be able to pick this up on ebay for $30 to $40. So I'll get the price I want. Because there is no true multi-player component for this game, I'll luck out and pay a cheaper price, and Microsoft gets $0 from me.

  • 06.13.2009 3:57 PM PDT

Seriously, your getting a game with a campaign, lasting as long as Halo 3's approximately especially if you like exploring. You'll replay it multiple times, that alone will make up for a large amount of the price, say $25.

You are also getting firefight. Similar to Gears of War 2's Horde mode, which people are still playing today and will continue playing into the future. Firefight doesn't have repeating waves, so it WILL last way longer. I'd say that would be worth $30.

You're getting $10 in new maps as well as a chance to get Recon. Also, we will be getting access to the Reach beta. So that's worth $15 IMHO.

So we're getting $70 worth of content for $60(IMHO), and that's for people who've bought all the maps.

EDIT: Also, $60 isn't much. A teenager with a summer job could afford it. Jesus H. Christ!

No I think that price analysis is wrong. If you purchase Gears of War 2 or the upcoming Modern Warfare 2, you get the horde mode, you get the campaign you get a ton of features, and you also get a full multi-player. Halo 3 ODST is lacking that full multi-player which is why I think there should be a $40 version without the old Halo 3 content (2nd disc) and a downloadable code for the new maps.

No $60 isn't a lot. But this game is going to suck unless your friends get it, and I doubt everybody's friends are Halo fanboys (despite what people say).

I will probably just pick this up for $40 a month after release on Ebay.

Done, and done. Instead of -blam!-ing about it, we should be grateful. They could have not bothered with it at all.

Please don't come up with fanboy statements. GOW sold 5 million copies. That puts it at the same block buster Level as Halo 3. I'm just talking facts here, not fanboy opinionated statements. Halo 3 is definitely not the best selling game of all time (WoW probably is).

Microsoft publishes Gears of War. So it is similar. And the development costs for both games are probably similar.

This game exists to make money, being grateful doesn't make any sense to tell you the truth. I don't understand the "being grateful" to a company, most ideas come up to make money. I personally believe the $60 price will make less money. The reason being as less people will purchase the game.
