Subject: I don't get why everyone's freaking out

Hey guys, I've been gone for awhile, so i don't get exactly what's going on around here. Can somebody please tell me why everyone is freaking out that ODST's gonna be sixty bucks?
It's a whole new campaign, plus the maps, which some of us don't have, plus a whole new multiplayer experience, and from what i heard a new copy of Halo 3 itsself. We all payed sixty bucks for halo 3 alone, which was also just a new campaign. Someone please enlighten me.

Because I've already paid for all the maps and the Halo 3 multiplayer. I don't want to pay for it again.

Plus, the campaign is only 5 hours, which is hardly worth $60. $40, maybe. $60? No way.

but you're not really, YOU'RE just paying for the story line, and the new multiplayer... which was exactly what you did for Halo 3. it makes no sense to me that you're mad about it...

Who said it would be five hours?

  • 06.12.2009 10:36 PM PDT

and just today, i beat halo 3 with my cousin in four and a half hours... i still think it's worth the sixty bucks

  • 06.12.2009 10:38 PM PDT

Well why should people pay 60 $ for a campaign and Recon. And Bungie said before that it wouldn't cost 60 $. So when the priced changed most fans got pissed off.
p.s. I will buy it most probably.

Bungie did.

Oh the irony of that articles title...

oh, see i didn't know the price was originally supposed to be lower, thank you for helping. I know i will definately get it. I'm seriously even considering the collectors pack with the controller and all, that's like getting a full game for sixty, and getting a new controller for forty bucks.

Note the date on that article. Things change and are added to the game. That article is from November of last year. Using that as a credible, reliable, and recent source isn't exactly good info.

Can easily counter that with the last bit of this.

Still think the price is a little high, but then again it is a good backup if your halo 3 disc dies, and you can always sell your original H3 disc if you don't see yourself playing the campaign again.

Two makes there more than speakers.

You don't have to buy it if you don't like it.

I think its pretty worth it. Excpessialy for the people who didnt have Halo 3 before. It is also a good backup just incase your original halo 3 disc broke. (Like mine :( )

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

They don't like it, they don't have to buy it. No need to make a scene about it here in a forum full of fans who are going to buy it whether the price is $60 or $200 (maybe that's just me).

People who say they won't get it due to the price, not because they can't afford it, but because they refuse to buy it remind me of those people who get mad at certain bands for having "offensive lyrics". No one is forcing you to listen to them.

And in that same regard, no one is forcing you to purchase this amazing game. Your loss, though.

You're not getting a whole new Halo 3 disc. Just a disc with Halo 3 multiplayer with all maps.

Have you played the game? I didn't know that you were given a backstage pass at E3 to play it.

I'm what they call a "Halo/Bungie Fanboy". I know it's going to be amazing because it's Bungie. It's Halo. That's all I need to travel to the ATM and withdraw money from my checking account and purchase said Halo and/or Bungie merchandise.

My PIN number is ****

HA! Gotcha!

If you had actually researched Halo 3: ODST or watched videos on it, you would know that this is no longer just an expansion to Halo 3, and has grown considerably since that announcement.

Hmm, the fact that Bungie has required the map packs in almost all of the playlists in Matchmaking makes me think otherwise.

firefight doesn't have MM (as far as we know. Bungie *technically* hasn't said whether or not it will).

as for me, i could care less what the price was.

the people who are complaining or saying "i won't buy it because it's 60 and not 40." are just pissy because they're not getting what they want.

basically, they need to GROW UP.
