Seems as though some gamers have lower standards.

Getting a job is not the issue. The money is not even the issue. Bungie could create a package that was well worth $60. ODST just isn't enough. The price for what you get is way too high.

I am also disappointed to see how many people think that 3 multi maps are worth $10. At that price 18 maps would be worth a full game. It just does not add up.

Okay well hey Bungie, when you release Halo Reach. Please Do us all a favor and put your pricing into the contract so that Microsoft can't kick us in the nuts again.

OK, before you go ranting off making false points again, Microsoft already owns Halo pricing. That means they decided to make it $60. If you can't find an extra $20, I seriously think you should stop playing games and get a job.

A SMALLER team takes LESS time(than Halo3) to build an expansion and we pay full price.

MS's side-SMALLER,LESS

Gamer's side-FULL PRICE

Someones just wont learn many things.

Well, I dont think that the price is overrated. Just waiting prices for the controller. I'm ready to pay for it.

  • 06.13.2009 12:10 PM PDT

Oh screw you mate. We all would rather it was less, but not all of us are wining about it. It is a full-fledged game, you don't need halo to play it, and it comes with most of the stuff included with halo 3 AS WELL. In fact, it has MORE content than halo 3. Still, ALL of us are going to pay that price, its not like you are alone in that.

The game is being sold as a standalone product. So just because you have the game, doesn't mean the potential buyer has already bought Halo 3. Its being sold with that in mind. And don't fight back now, giving me some sort of crap. It's a choice made so that any newcomer to the Halo series, and rest assured whenever a Halo game is released there are loads of newcomers, will get a content complete package.

So you think a newcomer to series would buy an expansion for 50 euros rather than the full game for 15 euros? (Price of Halo 3)

But, really, I don't have any choice but go with this sinister plan to gain more money and pay that 50 euros. And I bet it has a lot of content for the money because of the many play troughs.

Then what the hell is your point mate? This thread is complaining that halo 3 ODST is priced too high, yet it has been proven that it has enough content to warrant that.

  • 06.13.2009 1:34 PM PDT

Vrrin Vrrin, yeah here I come.

wow. your such a tightwad, you take big steps so you wont wear your shoes out!

or, your house is so small, you cant cuss your cat without getting fur in your mouth! (thats cowboy talk for a tightwad)

  • 06.13.2009 1:38 PM PDT

Vrrin Vrrin, yeah here I come.

but seriously, if you want pay less for your games, go play pacman.

because its pretty bad economicly, so if bungie wants to stay afloat, they are gonna' price their games at $60 bucks.

  • 06.13.2009 1:40 PM PDT

I ♥ Bungie!

WOW $60 NOT THAT MUCH DUDE. Im not rich or nothing but 60 bucks is pretty cheap i can pull yhat one from my ear. If your so despret get a job or somthing. im 14 and i moe lawns and wash cars for money. ya i know kids work but thats what i do i sometimes get allowance but its pretty easy to get money!!!

Check out my youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/ultratog1028

bungie and microsoft have mouths to feed too.

also as for map packs, what games to you play that have cheaper map packs? hell call of duty 2 and pefest dark zero were release titles and thier map packs still cost $10.

and if guitar hero metallica and smash hits cost $60 (they really should cost $40 at the most) then ther's no way that microsoft is going to let ODST go cheaper.

like only 20% of the price goes to bungie, 9% goes to the store, 11% marketing, and most of the rest goes to microsoft

I don't mind paying full price for a full game. Full of new content. $60 is not a lot of money. It is a lot of money for what is being offered up. Simple.

  • 06.13.2009 6:41 PM PDT

i'd would like to say two things. first, all map packs cost 800 MP or $10.
second, may i direct you to the complaints department

I know that all map packs cost $10. For 3 maps that is too much. 18 multi maps does not equal a full game.

now mr. troll. go back under your bridge and stop complaining.

8-)
It's 2 games!!
A lot of maps from Halo 3, + the world famous MM system and Forge. +! A huge ODST campaign + Firefight + 3 new maps.

That's almost 2 games.

Actually it is a bunch of stuff I already paid for and some new stuff worth about the price of an expansion.

You know what guys? Save it. -blam!- these people. They can't see the sheer amount of content they're getting here. They don't realize that Halo 3: ODST has a monumental amount of content more than Halo 3. They're latching on to the fact that Bungie had said it was an expansion pack but are totally ignoring the fact that Bungie considers it much more than an expansion pack and the scope of the game has increased.

When it comes down to it, the people complaining seem to fall into two categories:

1. Kids who're scared mummy isn't going to buy the game for them because they didn't score in their exams.

2. Really Bummed out Dudes without a girlfriend trying to cause trouble, just how he would cause trouble with his girlfriend.

I mean no harm to all you people, but you guys just don't -blam!- want to see to reason, do you? It makes it seem that way.

You make yourselves seem that way. You're not convincing anyone with your arguments.

I can assure you as a gamer, I have high standards. But I also don't think like a mindless consumer. Look at it from a developer's point of view. They are packing into the game much more content than they did for Halo 3 and still charging you the same $60.

Its more fair to you guys than it is to them.

You're missing the -blam!- point! Its a standalone game. People who have never touched a Halo game will be buying this. The game is sold with that in mind. Just because you already have the content, doesn't mean the potential buyer already has.

Why can't you be fair to the people developing? I too have every single content that Bungie has put out but you don't see me -blam!-ing about it. Can't you understand why the price is $60? Its not too hard to decipher you know?

ODST. More. Content. Than. Halo 3.
People. Who. Buy. May. Not. Already. Have. Halo 3.

There. I've simplified it for you. Get it now? :D

Just wondering though: Why is this thread still open? These people have their minds set and just want to -blam!- about it. Posting here isn't going to change anything.

I don't understand why people get so upset when Bungie and/or M$ gets questioned. Is it so unreasonable to think that the price is a bit on the high side? Don't you think its odd to charge people for the same thing twice? Do you like to pay for things twice?(I would like to hear the answer to that)
