i understood 40 bucks, but now it just seems like M$ is scamming us. I want to get odst cause i like the campaign idea and the firefight mode, also the new maps. But i am pretty much buying the same game with some extra features, why should i pay another 60 bucks for a game i already have?
Someone please convince me here.
From my earlier responses. Please read the things I said. It should make sense after that.

If I already didn't buy Halo 3 it would be an okay deal.
Mindless consumer? I am the one questioning what I am buying.
Mindless is just plopping down any amount because they said thats the fair price.
This game was not made by a full development team. We still pay full price. Don't get mad. Just try an understand. Please.
But you see.
1) You said it yourself: If someone hasn't bought Halo 3, it'll be okay deal. First, it'll be a great deal. And Secondly, that's the whole point of it. The game is a standalone product. Its not being sold to just owners of Halo 3. Its being sold to everyone. As with every Halo game, everytime a new one is released, a whole group of people come in. In the Hundreds of Thousands. And these people have not played Halo 3.
The game isn't priced with Halo 3 owners in mind. All games are priced with the general consumer in mind.
2) But you see, this small development team has put in as much effort as a full development team has to give you something on par with what was done. You're getting a fully featured campaign and a brand new mode never before seen in a previous Halo game. You're getting brand new Art Assets. Most of everything had to be done from scratch because the art assets being used for this game are brand new.
So if you want to bring in the fact that this was not made by a full development team, than I can counter with the fact that this small development team used a lot more effort/ Had a heavier workload than the large group which worked on Halo 3.
I can see where you guys are coming from. I'm not angry. But I just don't understand why you can't see it from the point of Bungie. Its not like they want to sell it to you at $60. Bungie themselves have minimal say in the pricing. Its ultimately Microsoft's decision.
First' I'm glad we are just discussing not arguing.
I get that they hope to get some new fans on board. Thats great. But with every new release came all new content.
I am not so bothered about the price. I bothered that a version is not being sold that takes loyal Bungie/Halo fans into consideration. I already bought half of the content! Why am I forced to buy it again. Thats a raw deal no matter how you slice it.
Yup, glad we're discussing, not going at each other with knifes.
When you say it like that, yes, it makes it seem that we're getting cheated. I've bought all the content as well and the only new things for me are the ODST disc and the 3 new maps. But, I guess someone, somewhere made a design decision and it turned out this way.
Whatever happened though, this is the situation now and its unlikely anything, anyone does is going to change a thing. They should have sold a standalone version of the ODST disc with a download code for MMP 2 at like $40 but someone somewhere decided not to.
Its sad. But there really isn't anything we can do about it. Nothing's gonna change now.
