How can they perform an action as complex as repairing a ship ?
And if Spark can teleport around the ring, why doesn't he at least put you closer to the index in the Library ?

Hello! I'm a male!

Um idk? Um it'd make the game to easy.

Why should the flood care about cover etc? Even when dead, their host bodies can be reinfected and brought back to life, either as combat forms or carriers. I'm sure I also read somewhere the pure forms are made from bits of dead flesh and bone of fallen combat/carrier forms.

Hello! I'm a male!

Oh and the Gravemind i believe repaired the ship not the flood ..... He controls them all ...... He has to be smart 2 take an army of walking brain dead dudes and beat an entire civilization or intellectual beings that made everything the covenant used such as The Holy City (High Charity) and most of the technology they used for there weapons (if not all of it) so i mean c'mon the Gravemind probably did it.

The Flood is a collective intelligence. The Proto-Gravemind controlled the Flood forms that took over T&R. Since the Flood Spores take over a victim's nervous system, the Proto Gravemind has full access to any memories and experiences the host has had. This includes the crew of T&R.

Let's play some custom games!

On the note of why Guilty Spark didn't put you closer to the Index, it was because he was testing you.

Actually, it was protocol.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Because they're collectively controlled by the Gravemind or Babymind in CE's case. It doesn't care about losing a few combat forms, it does care about getting a ship online.

Only the consideration of other gives your words meaning

Dahuterschuter stole my answer but at least some one as a good head on their shoulders

Sounds like a consensus. Thanks guys.
Did Spark say the distance from the Index was protocol in the game, or was that in a book ?
Never read the books - the game was always kind of a personal (?) experience. Mysterious almost.

Anyone who hasn't seen the H-3 SE DVD, the big three from Bungie comment over all the H-1,2 cutscenes. It's really funny, and they hit on the "making it up as we go along" aspect of a lot of the stuff. Humility even despite the excellence.

Right guy, with the wrong name. But still...

Elite Johnny the Hedgehog, awaiting for duty!

Well, i can't answer the first question.

But to the second question, Spark did really make us closer to the index, the problem? He forgot to put MC near the elevator or forgot that the elevator was a few floors up!

The flood don't care. And for Spark, I'm going to guess that he can only teleport to general areas.

Was that in the book? I don't remember it, but I haven't read that book in about 5 years.

I havent read the books, but I personally think the old Gravemind on delta halo controlled the flood on installation 04 when they were released, then the gravemind coordinated the flood to infest T@R. Afterward, when the chief extracted the captains chip from the brain form, the gravemind seemingly sent wave after wave of flood to stop him after he escaped T@R. (I believe this theory, because the flood were really determined to stop him on the last level in halo CE)

if knowledge is power and power corrupts, isn't knowledge therefore dangerous?
Black Tower

It could be that the remaining engineers fixed the ship.
Remember, the gravemind was around during the forerunners. He knows what they can do, and he can probably communicate with them.
And as stated above, It's protocol. Though why he didn't do it more is something I want to know. Power could not have been a problem, Cortana did it with Chief's sheild energy...
Why didn't he teleport more? Is it simply because he couldn't off of 04?

Keyes is dragged into a proto-gravemind, and when a proto-gravemind reaches a certain size it becomes a gravemind, the flood can acknowledge the need for a ship and form a proto-gravemind out of host officers and pilots to control the ship (Halopedia)

because as cortana said it requires tremendouse amounts of power so 343 would probably have to recharge
