Delta. Alpha. November. Indigo. Echo. Lima.

I can't help you, the only thing I can say is that 'the green AI thing' is called 'The Super-Intendant

They haven't said anything about SI.

Assguards are only important to people who run away from danger. Personally, I like to throw myself into danger facefirst, in a beautiful swan dive.

considering that the superintendent isn't connected directly to the ODST like Cortana to Master Chief and from what I saw in the early trailers the SI will probably just be directing the ODST through the city and because the game will involve some stealth (thats just a guess) then I don't think the SI will have a voice.

Your liver is a slut.
Hey, don't be a zumbo! Join Halo Wars RTS!
I'm right 97% of the time. Who cares about the other 4%?

There hasn't been any word on if the SI goes rampant, but I doubt it, for one reason. Cortana was a smart AI, and smart AIs are prone to rampancy. The SI is a dumb AI, however, so chances are he'll remain sane and helpful throughout the game.

You can hear his 'voice' in the Dutch flashback.

I don't know for sure, as explained in my previous reply, but In all the trailers etc I've seen, it looks like he's going to be helpful. (unlike the bambling, bumbling, Cortana that doesn't do a thing to help)
In the trailers it shows messages and help on its' many screens, evidence suggests that we're going to get a more *useful* companion wether it be in the back of our heads or not.
(Anti-Flame suit unneeded since nothing has been explained about the AI)

Will the AI remain sane, or will it be in a state of annoying panic like Cortana was throughout Halo 3's campaign (like with the annoying interuptions/babbling/slow motion junk). I sure hope not, because that was extremely annoying. If any of this was explained during E3, can anyone shed some light on it for me? I really havent been paying attention to the hype. (*Gets in super Anti-Flame suit*).

Cortana is a "smart" AI. The SI is a "dumb" AI. Dumb AI's usually don't have problems like Smart AI's.

Yeah. Even disregarding the smart/dumb AI piece, he hasn't been captured by Gravemind.

I thought that the babbling Cortana in Halo 3 was just fragments of her memory left in Chief's mind?

Sort of like in the novels, Cortana can copy herself into a fragment AI that can perform basic functions for a short amount of time; and then expire.

i swear, that better not happen in ODST.

SI:"Rookie! You must (must must must) CLEAN THE STREET!!!!!!"

Rookie:"...wtf?"

I doubt it. In Halo: Contact Harvest, the dumb AI Loki is the military protection AI for the entire planet, and after taking command from the AI Mack, he seems very calm as he helps Johnson and the rest of the marines and colonial militia proceed with the evac of the citizens.

Granted, he is a military AI, but the spaceport AI; Sif, and the agriculture AI; Mack, both remain calm.
