Does the VISR replace radar or something? Couldn't you have both?

Radar =/= motion tracker. I think it does replace it, VISR > Motion Tracker

Yeah, it would make sence. The Mjolnir (spell?) armor is what has the motion tracker, and since ODST's obviously dont have that armor, it would be safe to say that VISR replaces the motion tracker.

But wouldn't it be easier just to put the motion tracker into the suit instead of the VISR?

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

The visor takes the place of equipment (X Button) but does not replace the Motion Tracker. It helps you highlight targets and see in the dark. But it doesn't allow you to see things behind you. So I wouldn't consider it to be a replacement of the Motion Tracker.

Which one would you rather have?

I'd rather have the VISR. I've been turning off the motion tracker lately while playing campaign. ODST will be at night most of the time so VISR is way more useful.

I'm a bit confused; does this mean that we'll have both a motion tracker and a compass-like thing on our HUD's? Because in the E3 Gameplay trailer I didn't see a motion tracker; however I wasn't paying too much attention to detail.

According to what some people say, there won't be a motion tracker. Just the VISR.

well as the ODSTs are considered to be special forces/black ops they get a few extra toys.

the spartans are a direct engagment special forces. they don't need some of that stuff
