Little kids would be fine with me as long as they dont sound like a pre-mature pigeon on crack over the headset. Which is sadly the case, most of the time.

So i've been thinking about the stealthy/ strength options between ODST's and Spartans. while a Spartan can simple melee a brute a few times to kills it that wouldnt be possible with an ODST and if thats the case then why even include a melee option?

The best way to fix this issue would be simple. instead of attacking an enemy with the butt of your weapon why not just include a combat knife similar to Call of Duty 4? im not a huge fan of COD 4 but that would definantly add a bit of balance to the game.

Just my two cents.

Why use a combat knife for stealth when a melee from your SMG from behind will have the same stealth factor?

From my past experience with a different game, knife stealth kills were very exciting and cool at first, but quickly lost their luster. Im glad bungie is not including it. Maybe in Reach they will have it.

Death to rank junkies.

The knife would just make a Brute laugh, dude.

Edit: Samurais? It's Samurai.

Headshot... Sticky sticky... Headshot...Stab...Evade Stab Sticky Stab Stab evade Sticky Stab Headshot Sticky Sticky!

he may be thinking of the knife Sgt Forge used to kill the 18nth arbiter... but he slipped it thru his armour platings into his neck.. much different than just slashing armour with a knife

Which implies that something is broken, which it isn't.

If we got by just fine in the campaign of Halo 2 with a rediculously underpowered melee attack, we will survive with an underpowered melee attack in ODST.

NIERDRAIG!!!

if they do that this will happen
i am going to own that hunter with this knife
ahhhh *cling* huh? *cling cling cling*
*grabs a drill and makes a hole* *slice*

Lets think. Steel combat knife verses ODST armor, with heavy metal alloy. Armor wins.

The only thing that would be remotely effected by a combat knife would be a grunt, maybe a jackal.

Why So Serious?

Yeah i don't think it will happen. It would be interesting though.

im not saying the current system is broken im just thinking that if a spartan can punch with a force of 100 lbs (random guess) including his armor and physical strenth and it takes 3 hits to melee a brute to death how many hits would it take for a marine who can his with maybe 30lbs of force to take down a brute?

The knife would simply add more damage to the attack

There was a kind of similar idea to this in the book Halo: Contact Harvest. Jackals used these needler shard daggers that they could slash or cut you with, but if they stab you the knife super detonates.
