It is clear the third time around that the voice says "Noble-1". You can clearly hear him pronounce it.

But this is an interesting theory. I wish there were more of these than the garbage that continues to circulate.

Guess I'm incorrect. Cheehwawa know's this subject inside and out, good work.

I agree completely.

Check out my Gaming Rig on EVGA Mod Rigs.

There are some really great ideas here. I am wondering if Bungie used a number that would throw everyone off for the trailer as a void filler as opposed to using on of the real call signs of a character everyone would recognize right away.

I wonder if when Bungie created the teaser they planned on this mass confusion.

Regarding the "Nova-1" vs "Noble-1" conversation -

It sounds to me like Noble as well, but again its completely possible that they used something to fill the void that wouldn't be a spoiler this early on.

"YOUR DESTRUCTION IS THE WILL OF THE GODS, AND WE ARE THEIR INSTRUMENT."

A much more detailed explanation of a theory that i think is plausible. (And thought of too, without knowing of this thread.)
Of course, the use of a NOVA bomb would fry the Generators, or, in space, the Orbital Platforms themselves. So, unless the UNSC wants to pull some "taking them to hell with me" bravado, using a NOVA would be extremely..well, for lack of a better word, bad.

You make very well thought out and detailed theories. You back up everything you say as well. Unlike those other people.

If used on Reach, the NOVA would actually obliderate the planet... if used in space, it would have destroyed everything around Reach (it destroyed 1/4 of the entire Elite Separatist fleet in Ghosts of Onyx). I would really like to see one of those in action...

This sounds pretty plausible, you have a great theory dude.

  • 06.14.2009 9:44 PM PDT

Still sounds like Noble to me.

  • 06.14.2009 9:46 PM PDT

Wow man you and me both already pointin out the theorys that we know should be what will happen in the game, BUT b4 u kill me i like to say i didnt see this post untill after i posted mine, so here it is [url]http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=33810305[ url]
but man u pointed out some things that i didnt even notice, Its been a while since iv read my books cheers mate

BTW the Nova was never used on reach, In GoO the Novas core "Descrived to be a black box" was found by a grunt, engineers found and took the box away from the grunt, the grunt hears english coming from the box and pieces the words to realize that the box is bad and will kill them all, but in the engineers excitement of this new device they block the grunt, I do not know if the rest of the explosives were on the same vessel at the time but, in that instant moment, a whole covenant battle group of several hundred covenant warships were obliterated from existence.

BTW its common sense that a nuclear weapon will fry most electronic equipement due to the emp blast that comes with the explosion itself

It sounds really cool man, but I heard "Noble", could be wrong however. He says it so fast and there are allot of explosions going off at the same time. Anyway...

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

This is by far the best theory I have read, but I still do not understand why Bungie would use the fireteam term "Sierra" instead of "Spartan". Of course that could be just a placeholder on Bungies part in order to keep us guessing.

See why is it that the majority of people on this forum are being silly and get 800 replies on a thread, yet all the most plausible and reasonable ideas are ignored?
Because this forum mostly consists of people who only played Halo 3 and didn't read any of the novels?

If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

This brings us back to before they released Halo 3. Same stupidity and all. Nice to see you and Cheehwawa are still around.

Its a good theory as always. Although as someone said earlier, it was 150 possible candidates. They never say if it was a total of 150 kids or there were more candidates (meaning their callsign number could be higher than 150).

Seems i have some weird fetish with the S-III or something but it could also be them. Remember, we never knew what happened to the 300 Spartans from Gamma.

It's like those hip musicians with their complicated shoes!

If violets are blue, then what colour is violet?

It's "Noble 1," not "Nova 1."

Yup, but the NOVAs were taken from Reach (presumably by Xytan 'Jar Wattinree, since it was his ship which the Grunt activated it on)

  • 06.14.2009 11:32 PM PDT

Best theory i've read
though the only other thing i have seen is the time travel -blam!-
after watching the trailer many times i also believe it says noble the 3rd time he says it you can here the ble in noble instead of an a
if that makes sense
but yeah that seems to pretty much fit everything that is said in the trailer

  • 06.15.2009 3:27 AM PDT

Even though the part about Nova/Noble is a little unclear as of now, I am very impressed by the level of detail and thought you put in your theory.

And since nearly every of your arguments is backed up with literary references it has undeniable proof and validity.

Great theory!

ANY VENUE I WILL END YOU

Nice Theory mate.

But Im pretty sure i hear both nova and noble, its too hard to tell with the bad quality from over the com system there using. I hear NOBA anyways lol.

I think im going to have to re-read FoR and FS.

Best put together theory ive heard yet instead of all the: CHeef is realiz Marty Mcfly andz Teh Ship is realli teh Delorianz 4rm bak 2 teh fyootchur.

who Spartan 259 an 320 are is what is confusing me.

Good post OP. Well reasoned, convincing, good work.

That said... i'm pretty sure they say Noble rather than Nova. Oh, and just a nerdy point, the charlie company marines on the field outside the bunkers over the generators weren't killed by bombing, the flanking units were. The ones in the field died fighting the covenant ground troops.

But nonetheless, good effort. :)

This theory is simple and obvious, which is why it's the most plausible, you take what we're already given and put two and two together. Great theory!

I would assume that they reverted to the military phonetic alphabet because of the Covenant. They probably have already learned much of our language and would not want to even hint at the use of Spartans unless necessary.
