Some of my reasons for thinking so.....
1:Just because it says "Falls 2010" doesnt exactly mean its "Fall of Reach"
You're right, but it does mean it deals with Reach, as Reach is the planet in the teaser. The Battle of Reach occurred before the events of Halo: CE. The only events to take place after CE are the Forerunner excavation/artifact details that are explained in First Strike.
Also, xbox.com, a direct Microsoft-maintained website, confirms that the game is a prequel to the trilogy.
2:Ive read an article about the ending of halo 3 and bungie/microsoft clearly stated "The inevitable Halo 4"
Cite this article, please. I've read many articles that make such claims, yet none of them have credible sources.
3: In the Halo Reach banner. The figure on the left looks like the arbiter since he looks the tallest and too mishaped to be a human. The middle one looks mostly like masterchief. And the other three look like marines that were at the ending memorial scene of Halo 3.
4: The ending of halo 3 is a clear give away that something has to happen.Same looking planet as in the Reach trailer, and did you notice that one structure floating in front of the unknown planet in the trailer of Reach. That might of been the MC himself. But IDK who really can tell.
You're right. No one can tell. At this point, anything derived from the banner is speculative deduction that has no merit toward factuality over any other speculation. Some think the hulking figure on the left is Sam, and that some events will take place in the game before his death, etc.
5:I just dont think or get why a prequel would be made after Halo 3's ending. They wouldnt leave Masterchief and Cortana stranded in the middle of space......would they. Or would they forget about them and show how things were like before Halo 1. It just doenst make sense.
Frankie stated at Emerald City that they are not done with Master Chief and Cortana's stories. We'll see them again in the future. But that doesn't mean they can't work on a prequel in the process. I am DYING to play through some of the events from (or at least that relate to) The Fall of Reach. And anyway, whether it makes sense to you or not, as I said, xbox.com confirms that it is a prequel.
Now some of you say that you read the books and claim that you know for sure what its all about.
This is just my opinion so dont flip out if im a little harsh.
But i just hope they know what there doing.
Bungie made this franchise what it is today. Fans don't know what they want until they get something, so sit back and patiently wait for more details.
