*I AM NOT SAYING THAT LEGENDARY ENDINGS ARE CANNON. IM JUST THROWING SOMETHING INTO THE RING FOR YOU GUYS TO DISCUSS*

The Halo 3 Legendary ending, you can see it on any difficulty. It might have been a glitch but this happened to me twice. If you sit through the end credits you can see it on any difficulty. I saw it 1st on easy and secound time on Heroic. Iwas suprised when I beat it on Legendary that I saw it a third time. This may have been a glitch, (these moments were spread about four months apart though, and no it didnt take me that long to play it) and if it was then you can slap me

thre are many people fighting about the theory that reach is the planet at the end of the h legedry ending, alot are saying sense legendary endings arent canon so it cant be true

edit: not true because there a fun reward. SPOILER ALERT: is sargent johnson hugging an elite important to the story?

As for the whole Johnson thing:
It's not cannon, cause in the novels we find out he survived by getting away on a Pelican. It was added in for fun. As for the Halo 3 Legendary Ending, it's not considered part of the Haloverse cannon (technically) until Bungie releases explicit info. on how it's part of the story. Therefore it could be (or not) contributing to the Halo: Reach story in the form of a time traveling Master Chief*. This belongs more or less in the regular Halo Forum, but I can see why it's in here now.
*I do not, in any way shape or form, support this theory.

Legendary Endings not canon, huh? So watch this and tell me it's not canon. Tell me it never happened and is utterly insignificant!

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

I had to finish Halo 2 on Legendary to watch it, I played on every other diffculty and never unlocked it. The point of Halo 3's Legendary Ending is to keep the viewer in a state of suspence. To make them ask themselves where John and Cortana are heading.

I don't have the Legendary Edition; I have the Collectors. So I don't have the same liberty as you there.

If Legendary Endings aren't canon, why are they put there in the first place? Exclude Halo CE's Johnson scene, though there are many Johnson's in CE, there is a scene after the credits of Guilty Spark flying off from Halo's wreckage.
Is that not canon?

sorry for sounding stupid

It depends, the Cortana and Guilty Spark ending are confirmed as cannon. The Johnson one is not. The Halo 3 Legendary ending is not confirmed. Simple as that.
