Recently I read that microsoft has given a Dev kit for Project Natal to bungie...do you think this could make it possible that Project Natal could somehow be integrated into Halo: Reach game play?

Note: By integrated I don't mean that you will only control with natal. I mean it can be used for small interfaces like reloading and forge.

that would be a good idea, but i dunno if they would do it, as of natal is going to take longer to develop and when halo reach comes out it will already be made for controllers

I would rather not have to buy a 200 or so dollar gimmick just to play a Halo game when I already own the console to play it on

Who knows how long Bungie has had the dev kit?

I doubt they have had it since early last year.

Lion head was most likely givin specific instructions to make there demo for E3 seeing as they could probably pull a large number of there staff into since they just finished a DLC.

Here's my advice to you son, its a life lesson you shan't forget.

Some people are like Slinkies. They aren't good for anything in particular, but it still makes you smile when you push them down the stairs

I was reading another thread, there is a big problem

Turning around..

..if someone is behind you, you turn around, but hey guess who isn;t looking at the screen anymore...YOU!

This is one of the MANY reasons Natal would be impractical for full use with a FPS

Why the hell would you completely turn around? It would work like the Wiimote does, subtle movements translated into more viable movements.

How would you walk forward

It could track your distance to the camera from a hot spot, or something like the Burnout presentation. Or maybe they'll include a nice little rotational treadmill and you can run on the spot all you like.

Impractical, if for some odd reason Reach doeshave natal functionality, it will undoubtably not be required, and it will mostlikely be used for small things

I'm not exactly being serious =P Natal would work stupidly in a game like this.

But this won't happen because the whole idea behind natal is having no controller or machinery of any kind (besides the camera and the microphone). Natal does not want to end up like another wii. A good idea to fix the looking behind you thing is just turning to the left like 30 degrees and if you hold there your player will turn completely around. I agree with BattleRifle BR55 about the hotspot moving thing, that would be a great idea. And as for jumping, you could lift your body up.

lol i believe I just solved natal's fps problem. Credit goes to BattleRifle BR55

If anything it will probable be like what they had for the skateboarding game in the Project Natal video. You walk / run in place.

Lmao imagine if someone trips, how funny would it be to see some Spartan Super Soldier trip and land in the path of a team mates warthog? xD

Halo is meant to be played by controller, it is something special. I don't Natal and Reach should have anything to do with each other. And if they do, Microsoft is just desperate and tired of getting whipped by Nintendo.

lol yes, No games these days are played with controllers. That's old technology. [/sarcasm]

And you can't compare Xbox and the Wii. They are two completely different consoles with two completely different styles of games. Xbox leans more on the competitive side and the Wii is used for screwing around. I realize the Xbox has some casual games, but overall a great great majority of its games are for competitive play.

OMG... It would be epic for Forge... Maybe not for actual gameplay, but for forge... And we could also get the choice not to use project natal...
