Subject: The old Arbiter?

Halo Reach is a prequal but look up there at that picture it should be at the top of your screen between Halo Reach and Falls 2010, the left-most silhouette looks either like a really tall buff spartan or an elite

And if i am wrong that aside what weapon is he/she holding?

and a reason why thats most likely not an elite is cause they never team up
wit an elite in the book, and by there joints or the top of their boots, they seem pretty similar compared to each other

well, whatever...

its definitely a spartan http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/749/figuresbolder.jpg

Some think its Sam but since he died relatively early most say it isn't Sam, unless the game follows the book and in that case Sam will be in the beginning.

the body structure is that of a spartan, and I'm 99% positive that there was not an arbiter durring the time of the FoR

It's definitely a Spartan. Just a ridiculously big-ass Spartan.

Yes there has been many Arbiters, but over the cource of hundreds of years, besides the book made no mention of an arbiter, also the Maselium of the arbiter is all propaganda, all the caskets are empty

If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

Jesus... i wonder how many people here have actually read the books.

Yes, there were many other Arbiters before. As for Halo Wars... Those Spartans in Halo Wars are from the same batch as John.

looks like a belt fed chain gun hence the chain of rounds hanging down.

Well, the silouette looks like a really buff marine or a spartan. As for the storyline, John Forge killed the last one 20 years go and it'll be another year until another one is chosen (Thel, from 2,3).

What do you mean, all the caskets are empty? There were Arbiter's many times throughout the Covenant's history and there wouldn't really be purpose in throwing such revered and honored bodies into space when they died. There's no reason to question the presence of dead bodies in those caskets.

If I had to guess, based on the explanation of each spartan in the book, Id say from left to right Sam,Kelly,John,Fred and, Linda.

(like private caboose said Here)

I never said there wasn't other arbiters, but all arbiters that we have know about that have died have never been salvaged, The maselium is propaganda made by the prophets

The far left spartan suit could be the first Spartan Armor... like if anyone seen the movie: Iron Man. The first suit was huge.

Iron Man Mark 1
Iron Man Mark 3

If anything its Mark IV which was bulkier due to the powerpack.

The things on the helmet and such are most likely just be add-ons/ attachments.

You seem to forget that Sam died more than 20 years before this game takes place.

According to Halopedia which is usually reliable there was an arbiter during the battle of Reach but i do not know their source. (http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Arbiter_(Rank)#Known_Arbiters)

Fun fact - The arbiter in Halo 2 and Halo 3 was the Supreme Commander during the Battle of Reach. lol

If you read my previous post you would know that i was speculating that the game followed the book and that it starts before Sam's death. But you wouldn't take that time before correcting me.

and how!

An Elite, more specifically an Arbiter, would rather die than use a Human weapon.

[No, Player 2 using them in Campaign does not break this. As an A.I. they never will unless you force them to]

That applies to any covenant forces, in The Fall of Reach there were jackals that fought hand to hand when they were standing right next to human weapons.

PS - not trying to 1up you just adding to your post.
