I love "Luck"

Well, think of it this way. If they come out and decide to make a Halo 4 of some sort, all they're doing is filling in the holes until they finish the game.
This way we'll play the games from the very beginning of Spartan life, to the end of the last Spartan :]

Signatures are for squares.

Anyone who thinks Halo is being milked, is idiots.

There is 4 halo games now, 2 more are coming out. thats 6 Halo games.

You want to know whose being Milked?

Mario says Hi, because he's been in over 250 games, and Sonics been in more than 150. so if you think that HALO is being milked, you're an idiot.

I really wish that Bungie would leave Halo where it is and start something new. I mean, it's great and all, but sooner or later they have to end it when they run out of all possible ideas. Hopefully sooner. I remember them saying somewhere that Halo 3 would be the end; but now 2 more titles are coming out. Do you know what would be great? Another Marathon...

k so halo is no way near been milked, they have only had 6 halo including reach and odst

it might seem milked cause we almost got a new halo game every year the past 3 years, halo 3 2007, halo wars 2009, odst 2009, reach 2010

like games way more milked then this-mario, zelda, final fantasy, cod-since they made one evry year the 8 years, oh and zonic

Go Rams and Missouri!

If Halo is being milked, then so is Legend of Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and pretty much every other Nintendo game

I don't see what everyone is complaining about. As long as the games are good, different, and solid, I'm buying and enjoying them. Now it's a different story if a new Halo game is popped out every year or something like that. The story will become dull and nothing new will be able to be added. THAT is when the series will be milked. But there is still plenty of Halo lore left to cover that I'm interesting in playing.

What about CoD and The Elder Scrolls? TES is an amazing game is that being milked? Why do you think they make more games about it? It's because the universe in the game is so vast just like Halo. You can make up thousands of different characters and stories in a game like TES or Halo.

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

Let's check the stats:

Halo Games: 6
CoD Games: 10
Zelda Games: 10+
Sonic Games: 30-50
Donkey Kong: 10-20
Mario: 100+
Star Wars: 100+

Now does it seem like Halo is being milked?

Just because a game has a large number after it doesn't mean it's being milked.

When the franchise in question is dry of ideas and the games have been boring several times in a row but still selling relativly well, that's when it's being milked.

People enjoy the series, shut up and get over it.
Did you know that they aren't doing any more novels? So how are we supposed to discover more about the Halo universe? That's right.....GAMES..
Halo>Marathon.

Where did you hear this from? Last time I checked, three new books on the forerunners were coming out.

If Halo is being milked, then nintendo is brutally, raping, drugging, and brutally beating out their games kneecaps so that they don't ever have a chance to do anything else.

No series is "milked" until they have made many games, and started making games that don't live up to the title. If every game continues to be as great as Halo 3, I will never see the the Halo series as "milked".

However, since Halo is now the subject of so many games, it will only take one bad game for me to view the series as "milked".

I really don't care how many Halo games are made, as long as they are all good.

Is Kingdom Hearts being milked? How about Final Fantasy? Or maybe Mario? Hell, lets go as far as to ask if Donkey Kong is being milked, that still has more games. Every good series is going to be milked for all its worth and more, this is just how things go. Don't get so worked up over it dude, its fine as long as the quality stays high. Once the quality is gone, then don't buy anymore and it will end.

  • 06.16.2009 9:03 AM PDT

I don't think Marathon is done with at all. The only reason it seemed milked was because of all the fan-made versions. I think even bungie misses Marathon. Isn't that why they added the terminals in Halo 3? I think they want to make their newer games based on the good ol' days.

  • 06.16.2009 9:11 AM PDT

I don't see why people think Halo is being milked. If Halo is being milked then almost everything we've grown up with is being milked. Look at Star Wars, that's been around for nearly thirty years and people still like it. Star Trek as well. Marvel comics has been around with the same heroes for a long time too. The fact of the matter is they're giving the fans what they want, and if people don't like it they should just hop off the band wagon.

Halo is a great series of games but being a major gamer it is way overused 3 is enough plus HALO WARS, now ODST and REACH. I'm done with the games besides match making in halo3 its starts to get really boring. Call of duty is starting to get more popular!!!!!

Ironic much? COD is going on #6...

Non facete nobis calcitrare vestrum perinaeum

As long as Reach is good, who is to complain that they are "milking" the franchise.

  • 06.16.2009 10:20 AM PDT

/And To Those Who Belive| You WIll Tread The Lightened Path/ As Did Those Before Even Us|\

Well its not so much milking Halo its just how creative Bungie can be with the title. When i looked at the gameplay for ODST it looked exactly the same as Halo 3 and i thought 'I hope Reach is going somewhere'
Think about Final Fantasy. They're based in the same universe and thers no less than a 14th game announced and thats always kicked ass.
As long as they think of new ideas gameplay wise and multiplayer etc, i dont see why Halo wont carry on to be successful.

  • 06.16.2009 10:33 AM PDT

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

This is the truth. When we start seeing Halo Kart and stupid Halo mini games because they ran out of ideas for decent games, then you can call it milked. Until then, you just look like a fool for saying it.
