Subject: Where I hope this is going...

When Halo: Reach was announced, a couple of my friends and I started talking about where this may be going. We are all book readers and therefore we KNOW that the planet in the Halo 3 ending is the Dyson Sphere that has Dr. Hasley, Chief Mendez, and a couple of Spartan II's and III's inside.

So, instead of making Halo 4 and having a big cutscene explain how they got there, Bungie takes it back to Reach, where you will participate in a coupld of missions such as Alpha team's trip to gamma station. Delta team destroying the cruiser, Gamma team rescuing Admiral Whitcomb, and many others.

You end up back with Delta team with Dr. Halsey going deeper into the tunnels under the ONI base. Fight the covenant when they tunnel through, and then follow to the next part of the story. The next game is centered around Ghosts of Onyx and the Spartan III's. You fight as them and eventually meet up with Dr. Hasley and the Spartan II's. Then they fight to protect the teleporter hatch where Kurt dies. Which leaves the group in the Dyson Sphere with those "cryo pods" holding unknown creatures, most likely Forerunners.

Then, at the beginning of the next game, you see the same cutscene that was the end of Halo 3 as the opening scene. And we see where it goes from there.

What do you think? Anyone else want to play all those parts of Halo's backstory that you've only gotten to read about?

You know nothing. You have no facts to prove this and even though ever since i read GoO i wanted a game that touched all the backstories like you say, i doubt they will do that.

i posted that KNOW as a joke. Almost all of the book readers think that it's the dyson sphere because its the only thing that makes sence based on what we know. And i don't know why they wouldn't do it if reach is actually going to follow spartans on reach. What happens to the spartans on reach? The find Dr. Halsey and eventually follow to the tunnels that the forerunners left and get the artifact yadda yadda yadda. I don't understand why anyone would think they would just leave the spartans there and call it a story

You seem to forget that:

1. They just didnt spend 1 day in Reach.
2. The surviving Spartans divided into groups once they hit the ground
3. The mentioned Spartans they talk about in FS (the ones that found Dr. Hasley) are not necessarily the only ones alive on Reach at the time (we dont know much about the others)

... we can ASSUME that the planet in the Halo 3 ending is the Dyson Sphere that has Dr. Hasley, Chief Mendez, and a couple of Spartan II's and III's inside.

It has not been proven.

And very interesting indeed, but the game will be very long, which may cut back on space needed for other features. I mean...playing every event surrounding Reach will take anywhere from 10-25 of hours to complete. But hey, I'm up for it. But I doubt the game is going to go past the events of Halo 3. But only Bungie knowns.

Ok, so, either they follow the spartans who find hasley and continue that story, or they make a new story arc by following the spartans who do something else. If they take the first option then my idea would work, especially considering it was a forerunner portal that the chief went through and the dyson spere is a forerunner sheid world theoretically only reached my their portals to guard from the flood.

As much as i would like to see a new branch to the story, I'd much rather see the chief reunited with his team on the dyson sphere.

Notice the thread is called "where i hope this is going..."
not "where this is going..."

So before all of you cynical -blam!- naysayers go into every thread posting the reasone why not, remember that this entire forum is a speculation forum because all we know is that it is an FPS and that it will happen due to the events surrounding the fall of reach (the event, not necassarily the book)
