He who dares wins

I think that there should be 2 different ODST packages, one for the 60 dollars, and one for about 20-30.

The one for 20-30 will have the game, the new gametypes and the new maps. Then the one for 60 should just be the original one.

I don't think it's fair that people who have bought the maps should have to pay 60 dollars, when they don't want them, but the people who haven't or can't buy the new maps will still have the chance.

Adjust your strategy to the game, not the game to your strategy.

The current Halo 3 maps and multiplayer only account for maybe $10 of the game's price. It's extra content for those who don't have it, and if you do have it then good for you, you don't need it. I wish Bungie had never mentioned the words "expansion pack", because now people think that $60 is a rip-off when it's actually a full-fledged game.

Thanks for choosing to whine over being a productive member of the community and possible element towards advancing Reach.

Yeah you and everyone else who made the SAME EXACT THREAD thinks it's unfair.

If that's really the case then save your sixty bucks for something else.

Jack.G

I think it's unfair also.
i want to pay for odst, not odst, and all of the halo maps i've already payed for.
It's as if the loyal players who've bought all of the map packs get the shorter straw and i wish that wasn't the case.
but it is.
im still gonna buy it anyway, i <3 Bungie.

...as of announcement. After the inclusion of all the content they have decided on, it is worth the full retail price.

And the original maps aren't included in the pricing. Bungie has no costs associated with including the old maps in the new disk, and there's no reason to charge a mark-up to include them. The only concern anyone should have is that they paid for maps that they would be getting later. To them, I say you paid for early access.

Education. The only costs associated with the maps is a fixed development cost. The variable cost per disseminating maps is relatively small because they aren't releasing individual discs to distribute. Essentially, it costs them nothing to include the maps in the ODST disk. As such, there would be no reason to include the costs of previously cost-recovered maps in the retail pricing of ODST.

ah i get it- ODST game (not as long as a regular full priced game)- one multiplayer gametype and one map pack = $60

makes perfect sense.

Well, if you look at the model of DLC being $10, then you have $50 for Firefight and the campaign experience and $10 for the Mythic maps part 2. Considering Firefight is an entirely new multiplayer experience with its own set of maps (we don't know the quantity quite yet), and that the campaign looks fairly involved and fleshed out, I would have to say you're right. $60 makes perfect sense.

not to mention the campaign is "open world" which could potentially provide hours upon hours of gameplay aside from the core missions.

Halo ODST, firefight, one gametype, new campaign that's shorter than the average, and one map pack= $60 (NEW)

Halo, longer campaign, larger MP and a lot more gametypes, custom character= $60 (NEW)

COD4, Campaign, Larger MP and a lot more gametypes, custom classes, lots of weapons= $60 (NEW)

anyhow, i don't know why your so angry, all i suggested was a different eddition, one without all the special features some people don't won't and make it cheaper.

I feel the same. Just include ODST in a version that's maybe $30 or so dollars but without any bonus features.

I just realized how awesome wrecking the enemy team with a Focus Rifle from atop the Spire is. It's magical. It's like Concussion Rifle vs Sword/Shotgun.

how do people get heretic, longshore, and heretic then?

What's he building in there?

Dude It's a rip, but what are you going to do? It's a new campaign (or half of one), and a new co-op mode. I'd say 40 bucks, but then they add the new map pack, so that's 10 dollars I don't mind since I'd pay for the maps anyway. So I see that they should only charge $50, but this is Bungiesoft, so they decide to tag on something/things we already have i.e. Halo 3 multiplayer and previous DLC, to justify this full game price.

I love Halo and all but:
Gears 2 DLC > Halo 3 DLC.

Not all complaints are bad. Without complaints, nothing would change for the better.
