Hey, I just got done playing GoW2, then a thought hit me. What if Bungie made a flashback map pack of their own with maps from Halo:CE to Halo 3 with updated graphics for Reach? It wouldn't take long to update the graphics and would still allow for enough time for plenty of new maps to be made.

Let me know what you guys think about this.

Actually, it would take a while. Halo CE and Halo 2 run on a different engine then Halo 3, and Reach is probably going to run on an engine different then Halo 3's. So rendering the maps into a game engine that could possibly be two levels ahead of it would take quite a while. But, nonetheless the idea is pretty awesome.

I don't mean remake remakes like Blackout I mean true to the original with updated graphics and they already have the plans to all the maps they created so it wouldn't take as long as it would to make a completely new map on a new engine.

Yeah, but that would take a while, that's what I mean. I think they should focus on making the game itself better rather than completely rebuilding some levels from previous games. Great idea, but shouldn't be discussed by Bungie just yet.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

Yes, Yes, Yes...

Well yeah they should finish the campaign and start thinking and creating new maps before they even get started on a flashback mp if they think about one.

Plekpedia - The most epic site in the history of ever.

This is how it should work:

Halo: Reach is released July 20th, the multiplayer maps it comes with are 17 new maps, a Beaver Creek remake, a Narrows remake, and a Terminal remake. (not actual release date)

July 27th, the Flashback Map Pack is released, containing:

Blood Gulch remake
The Pit remake
Ivory Tower remake

Price: 800 Points

October 12th, another map pack is released, containing:

*new map*

*new map*

Price: 800 Points

March 7th, another map pack is released, containing:

July 7th, Bungie Day, a map is released:

Hang Em' High remake

Price: Free!

October 12th, another map pack is released, containing:

and how!

The only Halo 1 maps I liked were Blood Gulch and Battle Creek.

And you clearly don't know what you're talking about if you think it is just about updating the graphics.

The maps would have to be rebuilt entirely from scratch, due to different engines, different movement speeds, different jump heights, different proportions, and so on.

Or they could release a free fbmp with release which is what Epic did and they still had 9 other new maps on release.

I don't care how long it would take, I might not be an H CE or H2 fanboy but I still think its a good idea.

It's not a simple process of copy and paste; almost nothing is that easy when making a game. However; great idea. Remakes are always fun.

I'd really like to see Blood Gulch, but right now I have no idea how Reach will even play. We should probably hold off before jumping to conclusions. "First Person Shooter" is a broad genre. It could be a lot different than Halo 3.

How could they choose just a few maps out of all we have ever had. To make everyone happy the map pack would need to cost $30. I'd pay it but I don't know about everyone else.

Will Reach play like previous Halo games, maybe the maps won't work.
