Even though ODST is an expansion, it could have had a demo. Not campaign or anything, just Firefight. How? Basically it would work like the L4D demo. You download the demo, get set up in a random party to play Firefight on, and then actually play. Once Halo 3: ODST ships, the demo would no longer be available, just like the L4D demo. Do you think this could have worked?

Heroes are Born, Legends are Made

it could.. but bungie probably won't do it

maybe, but i like not having a demo, it'll just make me enjoy the game more once i obtain it.

I know it will have a demo, I'm just pointing out that it could. But it doesn't have too.

It does have a Demo. The entire multiplayer and forge mode you can play today! What are you waiting for!

I think it shouldn't. It's the same exact gameplay - you just play as a different character.

I'm sorry to say, but they have already tossed that idea out. In one of the E3 interviews, I believe with Jerrard, he said there will not be a demo.

This makes sense, because this is only a campaign expansion. I would really have liked to see some form of a Firefight beta though.

A demo would be hard.
In an open-world playing field, you can't have much of a demo without giving more than half the excitement of the full game away.

lol, thats the reason ODST doesnt need a demo. But if everyone gets ODST on the midnight release then Halo 3 will be empty an hour before midnight as the little kids will go to bed and everyone else will go to put up a tent outside the store selling the game

First off, ODST is NOT an expansion. It is its own game as it is not adding on to the Halo 3 experience, but providing its own experience instead.

Also, there already is a demo (it was played at E3). It is doubtful that it will be released for download or on a disc, though. This has already been stated by a Bungie employee at an interview at E3. However, I can't seem to remember the employee.

You know guys, I said I knew that there won't be a demo. I just posted on HOW they could have done it. Also Phat....don't get so emotional over me calling it an expansion. I'm still getting it.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Could have been a demo of Dutch's Flashback, or Firefight Beta. Oh well, you can't have it all...

I wasn't getting emotional. I am just becoming annoyed at all of these beliefs that ODST is an expansion when it is very easy to see that it is not.

Bungie doesn't need a demo. ODST will see like hot cakes, plus its the same game engine anyway.

Yeah... I really doubt Halo 3: ODST will have a demo. Bungie has shown that they know what the fans like and they don't really need to prove that. Unlike L4D, players generally have an idea of how the game works. People are going to either buy it or not buy it. There aren't as many unswayed buyers as there are for other games. ODST is not part of a new IP. L4D was.
