Well why would Bungie want to make a game about a book that a lot of people have read already? Where is the fun in that. I know you are saying "OM6 1T5 N0T T1M3 TR4V3L" well think about it this would be amazing twist in the Halo universe. If it was time travel it would be a epic storyline. Master Cheif saves Reach,he changes everything. Who else agree's with me and lets discuss :D

READ ME
Ok so for those who think that time travel is impossible tell me why?
Think about this in the book Halo:Fall of Reach when it first talks about the Slip-space drive engine it says how it was the first of its kind and not always so reliable. So think about this,a slip-space engine that is not so relieable plus the fire of a Halo ring. Hmm i wonder what that would be?

I actually hate the time travel theories because they are not real, unproffesional, and plain out dumb. It isn't about the whole book it is about the Battle of Reach and possibly Operation First Strike. The majority of The Fall of Reach has no fighting. The game would basically be a movie.

  • 06.15.2009 3:04 PM PDT

I think they would make the book into a game TO TELL THE STORY THAT EVERYONE READ...... that's like saying why did they make Harry Potter movies. It's going to be kinda like having an interactive halo movie in a way, since we know the story already.

Then the whole halo story line would be different. If you are saying time travel just remember the rules of it before you look like an idiot.

I wish the forums would reject any thread that involved time travel

  • 06.15.2009 3:07 PM PDT

KEEP IT CLEAN

First of all, I don't think you have read the book.

Secondly, the reason is the same reason why movies are made about books. People want to experience things they read differently. This is taking it a step farther, however, by letting people experience books first hand. I think that there is so much evidence against time travel that it's almost impossible to be about time travel.

It's not about the whole book! Just wait and see you''ll find out for yourself.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

It's probably based on the battle of Reach, but a new story that is linked to the novels TFoR and FS. I'm guessing the 5 Spartans are from Beta Team, who was left by Fred to defend the generators, and were not heard from since... so their story is a blank slate. They are the only group from Reach that S-259 and -320 could have been from.

KEEP IT CLEAN

I meant "I don't think you have read the books". Sorry my bad ;)

But yeah it's pretty obvious it is about the battle of Reach.

  • 06.15.2009 3:12 PM PDT

If it was time travel then it would be a sequel to the halo 3 but didnt bungie say that ODST was the last game to do with halo 1 2 3.

I rest my case.

Monkey see, Monkey shoot.

Terry Pratchet - The Best.

I don't think you have read the books, due to the fact that you would know that Halo: The Flood was entirley during the time of Halo 1, and took place in the same place. Yet told a very different view of what happend.

Think of it like this. A load of events happen quickly in a small sector in a small period of time. We play a character and see he/her/it's view, and we read about the other side.

In Halo 1, we didn't know how they captured Keyes did we? Unless you read the books.

Small spoiler. An undercover elite snuck onboard Keyes docking craft and although Keyes shot him, the covenant spent a lot of resources trying to hunt him down and capture him. One of the crew went AWOL on the rest and turned over to the covenant.

Very short and missing about 50 pages of detail but you get the point.

We also read about the ODSTs onboard the Pillar of Autumn. And their Fight.

Basicly, the book told us one view, the game will show us another, filled with unknown twists.

And who wants to bet that Cathrine Hasley was up to more then guarding the fortress? ^^

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Bungie has said that they don't like using time travel. Why? Because it's over-used, corny, and basically a cop-out.

So what if a lot of people have read the books?

FROM THE BEGINNING YOU KNOW THE END. Sound familiar?

Last time I checked this isb't F@ggy Potter. This is Halo. Just because one company does that does that mean Bungie will?

I would like to see that article and what? Why wouldn't they they use hundreds of other unrealitic ideas, why not 1 more?

ATM i can not be asked to find the article, the one of which Joe Staten states that Time Travel will not play a part in Halo:Reach.

I agree with 0DST27, whats the facination with bloody time travel.

The only story of today that manages to pull it off is Doctor Who. But that is in an entirely different context.

Kick start a craze

It's not going to be a time travel story. Stop trying to justify something that won't happen.

Give me proof. Just because 1 person said it wasn't going to happen all you followers said that to. If you know that its not about time travel where your explanation?

Sorry, but that is a poor argument for time travel. Face it, we will not be playing the BLOODY MC in halo:Reach, and thank god for that!!

Why would you want this game to turn into a bloody mario game? WHY!

In order for the MC to be at Reach after Halo:3 he would have to travel back in time, one thing that is not cannon to the Halo Universe. And also Halo:Reach is before Halo 1.

From the beginning (HALO 1) you know the end!

Beginning of Halo 1 is Keyes talking about the FALL OF reach!!!!, so we know that Halo:Reach is going to before Halo:1 and also that Reach is going to fall.

We are not following one set person unlike you we actually came to a logical conclusion.Anyways we dont have to explain why some thing is impossible YOU have to explain why it IS possible.

Ok its possible beacuse it would be an amazing storyline and that if a malfuctioning halo ring fire and a slip-space engine im pretty sure that boom would do something.......
