Gamestop also says it's a prequel and like posted above xbox.com says it as well. I mean seriously why woul-It's not time travel end of story!!! hahah jk but seriously it isn't time travel.

That's what you WANT it to be that's why you defend it and claim all other facts and accusation false. You need to face the facts that it's not time travel and accept that the game is going to be about the Battle of Reach.

Slipspace IS NOT time travel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 06.15.2009 6:22 PM PDT

I know most people have read the books, but wouldn't you want to relive the story in an interactive way? Wouldn't you like to see what everyone actually looks like, what everything actually looks like, etc?

Those are the questions I would like to ask you. And I did!

Anyway...

Time Travel is the dumbest theory ever made up, and it's a shame you actually believe that it's even possible.

Perception is everything.

  • 06.15.2009 6:39 PM PDT

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

TIME TRAVEL THEORY IS DUMB!

Please get some common sense.

  • 06.15.2009 6:58 PM PDT

I got live!

It will be the Battle of reach. No one argues that but I think your idea is stupid. Because it would not make sense for bungie to screw up the battle that sets up ALL of the fallowing Halo Games.

I actually hate the time travel theories because they are not real, unproffesional, and plain out dumb. It isn't about the whole book it is about the Battle of Reach and possibly Operation First Strike. The majority of The Fall of Reach has no fighting. The game would basically be a movie.

ya i know haha ^ ^ ^ this man has a good response

OP there is a massive post that has a ton of valid explanations as to why time travel more than likely would not make it's way into a Halo game. Point in fact here you go, have a look.

The arguement of whether time travel is possible or not is irrelevant, the true arguement is would it be featured in a Halo game, and as things stand there are for more reasons for why it wouldn't than why it would. One of the biggest reasons being that the writer of two of the novels that are considered canon has commented on the "weakness" of using time travel as an explanation. I believe even Joe Staten (Bungies chief writer) has made a similar comment. Check out the thread I linked.

wtf

Since when does a legendary ending in Halo = cannon? Never. The ending was a teaser/hint at the game. That is all. There is no time travel.

I am flatterd that you botherd to look at my signature.

what i have against the time travle is that if it were the case chief could be duplicated and he could end up being everybodys dad and child...

you: son go clean your room

chief: ok son but only if you take out the trash

you: ok deal but then i get to go play with my friends

chief:but i need you to help me out with my book report...

hell if he went back in time that means there isent a forward in time. it means it is all a loop and there could be 30000 chiefs in one place at one time.. but wait we cant mesure time anymore so when was chief born? the day he died and had a kid that turned out toi be him..

time travle destroys logic and can ruin this story faster that you can say bad idea

  • 06.15.2009 7:43 PM PDT

-You look like you could suck a golf ball through a waterhose.

Ok for starters i'm 100% against time travel....

So just imagine if he did go back in time, wouldn't it be like timesplitters? Chief shows Chief how to beat everything and it just keeps moving in a never-ending circle. If Bungie was going to do something like time travel then they would've had to do it from Halo:CE.

I feel its a waste of my time to keep explaining all of this but you get what i'm saying.

We're the stupid ones? At least we don't have half a million threads saying the exact same thing

Have you seen the majority of the Halo playing population? Don't worry the story will be a surprise for very large percentage of the players.

Bro there are other spartans bro!

First, MC is somewhere between the Ark and Earth. Second, the portal from earth to the Ark is Forerunner technology so it is most likely very stable. Time Travel is a bad theory and something that can really f up a a story line. Just look at Terminator. The second they got into time travel nothing makes sense. Besides what you are explaining would probably create a Paradox somehow.

Wasn't there time travel in the very beginning? Yeah, it makes no sense if you try to figure it out, but if you ignore that, they're great movies. Time travel doesn't fit into something like Halo, though.

The only instance in the books that I can think of that comes close is in First Strike, and that is an instance of time dilation in slipspace, not time travel.
