blah blah blah whata lame post BET YOU ARE LET DOWN NEXT YEAR

Thank you Capt Killjoy. If you hate Halo, leave. ...And damn man, the Italian who speaks English as a second language writes better than you. Learn your English beyond the elementary school level and you'll get the premise, and love it.

Changing gears, I seriously hope that Bungie will revamp the entire system and make it even more fluid than it is now. I know they can do it, they proved their abilities with Halo CE.

Clearly because the desktop uses a 3 prong plug and a laptop uses a 2 prong plug, the microwave will fill your car with tostitos better

I thought this was just gonna be another thread talking about how CE's features have to be in Reach. Even though I agree with those threads, this is one of the better threads on this forum. I totally agree.

Decimate the Weak

One thing that I really love if Bungie did is acouple things

1: Make the Single player more rewarding and more than a days worth of play. I sat through all three Halo titles in a day or two. It wasn't much too it. And honestly... yes they are pretty catchy story lines but there really isn't any emotional attatchment too it. In Halo 3 they kind of used that when Chief and Commander died, and even in CE. But still I was never emotianally drawn into the game it was more like "Let's run through the map as fast as I can." And also I found myself sometimes just not knowing WHY I was going somewhere or doing something. Just all in all make the Campaign more in depth.

2: Holy -blam!- you need to fix parts of the multiplayer. Any Halo fan who has played multiplayer knows this. One example is for example, a well placed frag and a shot to the head with a BR, Pistol, or any other type of single round wepon will kill the opposion. Well a shot to the head then a grenade won't kill them... why is this? Yes, I thought about how the sheilds work and everything, but logically.. it doesn't make sense. Spawning points are a big problem too. Little tweaks will fix these annoying nusances and problems.

3: Everyone will have waited 9 years for this when Reach will release... WE WANT TO SEE CHEIFS FACE. Maybe partial atleast? Maybe a crack in his helmet and we can see partially through it, and when you took control of him again that could effect the look of the screen? But we want to sneak a peak at his face. 9 years is long enough Bungie.

I agree with you when you say that Halo:CE revolutionized FPSs on consoles in that generation. How it revolutionized the FPS genre for the Xbox/PS2/GameCube generation of consoles can be compared to how 007: GoldenEye revolutionized the genre in the Nintendo 64/PSone generation. I disagree with your thought that Reach will once again revolutionize the genre once again.

It will be the fifth Halo FPS made. I am not saying that i will not be a great game because I am sure that it will be, but the fact of the matter is that it will most likely run on the Halo 3 engine and will NOT be built from the ground up.

Halo 3 was a great game but it wasn't revolutionary. I believe when we pick up Halo Reach in 2010 we will be treated to a great game with excellent multiplayer but it will not change the way we think of FPSs on consoles as Halo:CE did.

Guys, more multiplayer focused doesn't mean the campaign will be compromised. Considering there are 5 guys up there ^ I'd think that'd mean a focus on the co-op campaign. Considering that and that it's suppose to be different from the others, I'd imagine this is what it means.

Halo 3 was built from the ground up. It uses a new engine, not the Halo 2 engine. BTW, I think Halo 3 looks really good. The texturing is amazing. The weapon, vehicle, and armor models look good too.

They're most likely doing the same for Reach. And I have a feeling it's gonna look awesome.

That's not right.
From Halo 1 to Halo 2 the engine was totally redone, and they were even on the same console.
But from Halo 2 to Halo 3 I noticed A LOT of similarities of the engines, from texture to animations, to polygons. They kinda taken the Halo 2 engine and powered to max in every aspect, but they haven't created a new engine (see the last run of Halo 3 for examples, the floor that blows off the ground...it's really Halo 2 there, nothing more).

And I can understand to take the Halo 2 base, especially for multiplayer. They've decided to not risk...

...but now I want them to risk with Reach, and I hope to REALLY see something REALLY new...
No, I guarantee you, Bungie's confirmed it, Halo 3 was built from the ground up.

Although I've heard somewhere that Halo 2 used a VERY heavily modified Halo CE engine.

Halo 3 had an engine built from the ground up, if it used the Halo 2 Havok engine, then we would have been able to use super bounces, BxR, etc etc.

Well, they were glitches that was fixed, but the base engine still remain the Halo 2 one to me, pumped a lot in every aspect and put in HD.
They need to create something new from scratch cause we aren't on Xbox 1 anymore ;)

I just hope Halo: Reach is huge. By 2010, we'll need our dose of Big Halo Stuff. :)

Does anyone even read these?

Oh, I almost forgot.
I'm an inside member of the biggest italian videogames forum community (Forumeye.it), and I've some friends that followed E3-09 directly, and talked with some MS employers in the show, asking about Reach to everyone. They can't say a lot cause it's still everything top secret for now, but that's what they told to me:

-It's an FPS, and not a MMO or similar (and ok)
-It's more Multiplayer/Online oriented then previous Halo, and the SP Campaign will be something "different" to what we've seen so far with the previous games.
-The game is under development since after Halo 3, and for more time then ODST (that is developed by a small part of the team, and it was done in 1 year and an half)
-New graphic engine!
-The multiplayer will be different/new.
-It's the "next big Halo" for Bungie and Microsoft, same importance as an Halo 4
-It's everything "darker" and more serious.
-150 people are working on the Project since 2007

You can trust me or not, you can take those info like rumors or not, but I know my sources and I trust them completely, and Halo: Reach really seems to be huge like we supposed!
Interesting!

I agree. I want to own the one true reason why everyone will be owning an xbox 360 and I want that reason to be Halo: Reach. I don't care at all if they push the release date further.

It seems that a lot of people and effort are behind this game, it may be possible... :)

That brings us to a perfect example: Gears of War 2. Before you flame me, know this: there are bots in multiplayer so if you don't want to play the ruined matchmaking, just make bots. As well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Gears as a franchise is based around multiplayer, and of those co-op is the one you want to play campaign on. It's a great game when you have a friend. As well, the story, well not the best, still takes the lore in an even darker direction than the first, and they only worked on it for two years. So hopefully campaign will be great and epic and when you're playing either solo or co-op, you don't feel left out on the epicness.

Halo 3 runs on an engine that, funnily enough, is called the Halo 3 Engine. It was built from the ground-up.

Have you compared a screenshot of, say, Zanzibar and Last Resort lately? If you think they look anything alike, methinks you should get your eyes checked.

Also, Havok is only a Physics engine, which was incorporated in to the Halo 2 & Halo 3 engines.

I know it's "new" but in any case it's still connected with the old one, and the framework is too old "Xbox 1" oriented instead of using all the 360 capabilities. It's an awesome Upgrade from Halo 2, but not something new and fresh created for the new hardware...

But with Halo 3...
With Halo 3 they had a MONSTER hardware like Xbox 360, they could reboot it all over again like Halo CE did, creating something totally (r)evolutionary, but they DIDN'T.
I love Halo 3, but this game it's like "Well, they initially wanted to release it on the first Xbox" to me...
It uses the same Halo 2 engine (a 2004 engine, created for old hardware), "only" revamped (and converted) in every aspect for the new power at disposal, but it wasn't "new from scratch" like Halo CE was

This statement is blatantly wrong. Bungie rebuilt a new game engine in its entirety for Halo 3, hence the reason porting direct maps and other outdated assets has been constantly reiterated to be impossible.

Gameplay > Graphics

I hope Bungie lives by this rule for all our sakes.

I agree, but the Gameplay too must be rebooted to me, Halo 3 it's like the ultimate Halo like we know it, to me... ;)

7even is Darker

The games engine was built with knowledge in mind from the prior engines, I beleive thats close to W4W from when H3 was announced.

We now need a jump like the Half-Life->Half-Life 2 one, that was huge, still mantaining the spirit of the first title intact...

I agree 100 I thought that halo 3 the conclusion to the game that I love was gonna have a BA campaign awsome online play. But the halo 2 online play out did the halo 3 the whole matchmaking asspect that every1 loved seemed to be withdrawn and shrunk.the campain was also surpassed by the halo 2 campain in lenght and replay ability. But I still love this classic game and will still play the franchise.
