I am soooo surprised how nobody has noticed who the second spartan from the left is. Can you guess? James. James lost his arm during a fight with hunters on Sigma Octanus IV. To be more specific he lost his arm from the elbow down; it got burnt away. By looking you can tell that the arm is shorter, A LOT more skinny, doesn't have any armor plating, and has a robotic look to it.
No his arm wasn't flash cloned, the UNSC can only do that with organs. This proves that Sam won't be in the game. Why? James replaced Kurt on Blue Team whom replaced Sam. This proves the date to be during the Battle of Reach where James already lost his arm.
I'm not trying to ruin people's theories of Sam but come on, let's be realistic. We know the game won't be about the whole book. I know a bunch of us WANT Sam to be in it but he's not and I think we should just accept that. We can see the signs of who the spartans are just by looking. James and the arm, Fred and the knife, Linda and the sniper, John in the middle, and the other spartan. Check out the pic I will soonpost and look at 'Linda'. The reason the helmet looks different is due to the light shining over the helmet. You can notice it if you look at it long enough.Spartan Goodness
Now we can tell that by the looks of it Kelly isn't in the pic but here's the thing. This doesn't have to be the spartans who fight during the ground ops but rather a bunch of the spartans that you see in the game or survive but then that would kick James off the list. But if you look at the arm you can't honestly disagree that the arm doesn't look like robotic or prostetic arm and that it doesnt' seem like James. Also given the general date of Halo I would think robotic limb replacement would be possible atleast with ONI.
Just let me know if you think it is James.
