Subject: Oh, Hello there James! Where's Sam?

Bringing you lame jokes, social awkwardness and the occasional good idea since 2008

My gosh people, the Spartan on the right does not have a robotic arm, his arm his just partially hidden behind the smaller spartan. The smaller spartan appears to be Kelly who is holding 2 pistols, remember in the book First Strike when some of the Spartans were on Reach she used 2 pistols.

extremely possible theory. great analysis of the pic and backing it up with facts which nobody else seems to do

But they weren't with an S-259 in CASTLE base, so how could that happen? And you could only squeeze 3-5 missions out of Team Alpha's campaign on Reach... we will probably play as one of the Spartans we don't know yet, from Team Beta.

I don't even see where people are getting this robo-arm thing from, James never got a fake arm that I remember. It is simply an illusion created by the smaller spartan overlapping with the larger one.

I respect your opinion but you cannot tell males from females when it comes to spartans being in their armor. Plus no spartans are frail. Also if you look close enough you can distinguish that both arms are in the exact same position. Just read above at the key things that shows it's a robotic arm.

it doese'nt look nextgen , looks good but not nextgen
If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

He lost his arm and it got replaced. We dont know what it was replaced with though. My guess is that it was flash cloned.

I highly doubt you can flash clone limbs plus his arm was only half burnt off so a robotic arm would make more sense.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

Very good theory. I'd yet to look at the image that closely until now. And it seems plausible.

It was blown off from the elbow down. And why couldn't you flash clone limbs? They replaced the kids for the Spartan II program with flash clones.

If they could flash clone a full human being why wouldn't they be able to flash clone a limb 35 years later?

I have a really good monitor so I can easily see the silhouettes overlapping and can distinguish who's arm is who's and what the arm really looks like. It's like crystal clear for me but I guess it depends on what monitor you have as well. That's true but the spartans had the bones augmented just like the rest of their body so if his arm was flash cloned it would only read the DNA not the newer virtually unbreakable bones that were added. Plus just by looking we can tell that is a robotic arm and James is the only spartan who matches with the silhouette.

Look closely at the small spartan's arm, you can see a dimmer thing behind it, that is part of the larger Spartan's arm. The skinny arm belongs tothe smaller spartan. It is in the right scale with the other arm, and nothing was EVER said about James' arm being replaced. And even it is was replaced with a robotic one, wouldn't it be in the armor too? Why leave it unprotected.

Well the MJOLNIR suits have the gel layer underneath and that wouldn't work well with the arm. It would be hard and difficult to have the already metal arm be encase in unecessary armor, it would just restict it's use more. Plus the arm is probably made out of a very hard metal, which would work for it's own protection.

Or they could just flash clone his limb, and its as if nothing happened to him.

They could flashclone the spartan candidates because they grew into a living thing a whole body. They can clone organs because organs fit inside the body and can grow the whole way and be used as a whole. You can't just flash clone an arm and have it stop growing as an arm so it can be put back on the person. That is why they don't flash clone limbs only organs and people.

I am sure they use tissue from the organ to flash clone it and DNA to clone a person or animal(someone who has a copy of first strike could help since they clone Kelly's organs. The tissue on an arm matches that of the tissue all over your body so it wouldn't just grow and arm if anythin at all. Also read above about the bones.

I can tell you really don't like this theory. Oh well your entitled to you opinion. I would also imagine that since my theory of the spartan being James, which is the most believable and accurate compared to the theories of the other spartans and their identites, that you don't believe that any of those spartans are the ones that people have said they are.

Its too vague of a picture for me to even say. I don't even believe that they are spartans at all. If they are spartans then it could be anyone. I don't want to get my hopes up though. Bungie does that often.

Yeah I honestly think I know who those characters are but that's with the huge lack of information. We will all have to wait and see once more info is given.

I completely agree since they are the only female Spartans there are.[/sarcasm]

I'm even questioning the fact that the 2nd figure is that of a woman. They say in the books that once they had their armor on you couldn't tell the males from the female ones. Only Dr Hasley could

The spartan second from the left. Let's get on the same page people. Look at this pic because apparently everyone is looking at the banner and not the picture. You can easily tell that is a robotic arm, it's skinnier, unarmored, shorter, and even looks robotic. Don't try and say that the spartan is reaching for a pistol either because it isn't even the shape of a pistol and both arms are resting at the same spot. I have a good monitor and it is crystal clear. I read all of the books and know my signs. If that is any spartan it is most likely James.

I know and it's not like all female spartans are short and skinny. Male spartans aren't all going to be ripped like crazy. If anyone would be Linda it would be the one to the far right.
