Halo CE and Halo 2, the Flood was epic. It was amazing.
Halo 3, not so much I'm afraid.
When they entered the scene on the Storm's cutscene, I was shivering with excitedness, to face this new scary, tough enemy. Instead, I got a bunch of melee-one-hit kills off of squishy flesh bags that sucessfully became the second easiest enemy in the game, second only to Grunts.
I wanted that dark room with screeching howls that seemed to come from every direction at once, where mindlessly enraged zombies would come at you from no where and then descend back into the darkness.
We didn't get that.
The Flood couldn't be in ODST due to the timeline, but I would love it if they were, but were Halo 2's Flood. Dark Alley ways, combat forms jumping from roof top to roof top, hordes of the enemy in all directions. That would be great... But alas, not even the Flood can traverse Time backwards.
