Didnt knw they were lost in space. My bad. I guess Halo wars does fit. Except where the -blam!- did all those spartans come from?
You mean all six of them? There were around 33 Spartans like the Chief who graduated in 2525... most of the remained over 20 years later, and were stranded on Reach while the Chief took 3 and went on a space mission. Two of them were killed, the Chief took one's body (you can see her vital monitors on the room behind the control room overlooking the Chief's cryobay in The Pillar of Autumn in Halo 1) onto the PoA, and then he left Reach (about 30 mins into the battle) for Halo 1. 27 Spartans were stuck on the surface of Reach after falling out of their Pelican, and we will probably see a good deal from the novels, but I bet we will be playing as some of the currently unknown Spartans from Team Beta, one of the splinter-teams of Spartans on Reach who we know literally nothing about.

Are Star Wars Episodes I-III just side movies using all the characters from the original trilogy, or is it canon? It's canon. So is Halo Wars. I don't know what you're trying to imply...

Halo wars takes place before Halo CE and there was Flood in that?

Halo Wars was the story of Spirit of Fire and the planet Harvest (I think). Remember they blew up a reactor and may have taken a long time to get back - SoF may have been destroyed or something along those lines. Tho from other posts, I've heard (whatever Spartans from Halo wars) Omega Team are involved in the Fall of Reach.

sorry for not replying to any posts for a while; I live in England, so your 8 hours behind me.

Quite frankly, as long as the flood aren't in the game, everyone is happy

No Flood= :)

I also agree that although Halo Wars is canon, it's story line and chracters will not affect or appear in Reach.

No,she does.Dr. Halsey created Melissa before Cortana.Shes not as smart as Cortana, but is a smart AIis

Dr Halsey made many AI's using her personality. However, few managed to survive and even fewer managed to become the AI on UNSC vessels

You tell us to learn about Halo Reach, while you are actually telling us to learn about Halo: The Fall of Reach.

The two are not necessarily related.

I disagree. Many other threads have proven that all the Spartans in the are recognisable, with the Chief in the centre. Now where would be the sense in putting the Chief's Spartan team on the cover of a game where the you play as a different team?

Yeah but isn't it kind of obvious that the game will be directly related to the book? Seeing as though the Spartans on the banner are the Chief's team and the only time they were all alive was during the events of Fall of Reach. ( Go to this website for proof http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=33563678) Doesn't that kind of point towards the game being set during the events of the book?

I'm not telling you to learn about Halo Reach or Fall of Reach, but rather to listen to my theory and give people hope that the Flood may not be in Reach. And also to teach people about the Haloverse and have a successful thread. (This is my first, and not going badly if i do say so myself)

Those people are under the suspicion that Halo REACH will be about Halo: The Fall of Reach, rather than the fall of the planet Reach (which occurs as a flashback in the beginning few chapters of First Strike). Since the trailer shows us the fall of Reach (and "falls" 2010 probably refers to the Spartans falling from their Pelican, like the ODSTs dropping in their drop pods for ODST), it's safe to assume that's what the game will be about. And the Chief didn't fight on the surface of Reach when it fell. He was on one zero-gee space mission which lasted 15 minutes, then he left for Halo (Halo 1).

Also, it couldn't be the other main Spartans if Sierra-259 and -320 are Spartans, since those two weren't with Team Alpha or Team Gamma. Team Delta were crippled from the fall to the surface. Team Beta is the most likely team, since it's the only one with at least 5 Spartans who are combat-effective on Reach.

Actually Cortana has a "Sister". Also there are other spartans alive after Halo: CE. One I believe is Linda, or the one put in the cryo tube. Between Halo 1&2 MC goes back to Reach and rescues the rest of the Spartans and Dr. Hasley who survived.

I will be so happy when Reach is release and all you kids notice that it has nothing to do with any of the books. When will people finally understand that bungies videogames and the books are two different storys.

OT: Finally a game without flood, but I had that hope for Halo Wars and I was disappointed, but atleast it profed that halo wars is not canon, due to the fact that the flood are discovered in halo:ce and not many years before it.

for one, we're not "kids", and you're wrong the games follow the books.
get your facts straight.

I believe this is gonna be story wise closer to halo CE with all the big budget and better trained writing that went on in halo 3. I might enjoy it if I'm just killing covenant all day instead of the flood. Moreover if it is a prequel and it is the fall of reach than we lost that fight, so it could seem overwhelming.

Moreover the identities of the silhouettes are still unconfirmed, why is everyone sitting on that they know more about this game than what we are told right know?

yeah but between halo 1 and 2 the chief went to Reach to rescue Dr Halsey and the AI's. Also they're on the cover for gods sake. Of course you're going to play as them!

Why don't you go ahead and read the Halo novels before you act like you know stuff.

Yeah, but the novels work in time with my theory. All of John-117's team were alive before CE and I believe the Spartans on the banner to be them. How should reading the novels change whether I think all of those Spartans were alive or whether i know what they look like. We may have different opinions, but that does not mean you have to say that I don't know stuff or say I'm wrong. This whole thread was made to show my opinion and tell others that the possibility of the flood not being in Reach is very likely. If you disagree with my opinion, then why bother posting, after my first post clearly stated my views? I didn't read your thread and comment "your wrong, no proof, blah blah blah blah blah"

Lets just admit we both have different opinions and leave it at that?

The Flood exists, they just only reside on certain planets, Reach (as far as we know) not being one of the them. Technically during the time that Reach was attacked Cortana was around, but I believe the game will take place in more than just that theatre, and definately from more POV's than just MC, if we have his at all.

I'm sure there will still be chatter, whether it be from CO's or another AI of some sort, possibly even team chatter.

They don't if the game is based on the fall of the planet Reach, because John wans't on the surface (he was in space with two Spartans, how do you explain there being 4 there?) in the armor he wore in Halo 1. So it's not him. If Sierra-259 and -320 are Spartans (as they imply that they are), then they won't be John's squadmates like Fred, Sam (he dies 27 years before), or Linda (who was in space). Fred was never with a Spartan-259 on the surface, as S-259 and -320 are new Spartans. How new? Well there were 14 unnamed Spartans on the srurface of Reach, 11 were combat-effective, with untold stories which can offer a new POV on the whole fall of Reach (we would onlly get 3 missions from Fred's eyes, then he gets trapped in CASTLE base for two weeks where there's no enemies, along with Kelly, Isaac, Vinh, Will, and Halsey. )

I just want to tell you that it's very unlikely that John is in that banner. It doesn't make sense if you read the novels (recently).

all right, i see your point.

i still think that it is Chief's team the game will be focusing on, but i admit that it is a bit of a guess. However i could be right, as it does look like them there on the banner. i suppose we shall just have to wait and see what bungie produces, whether it be about a lone, desolate squad on the planet reach, or you fighting the flood (oh god no!!! >:o)

Personally I hope that the game follows the Spartan II program from the early years and early engagements, and ends with the events on Reach. Kind of mixing in story from The Fall of Reach and First Strike. I think this would make for a great story, telling it through different POV's the whole way through, taking place in different theatres of combat.
