R.I.P. Halo 2 11/9/04-4/15/10
If you havn't played Halo 2 online than you are missing so much. Plus if you have played a good amount of Halo 2 online, I might have a better chance of listening to anything you say.

I know Microsoft will never lower the price for anyting. all im asking is for you to understand its not fair for loyal fans who already paid for this content pay again. Something they should at least consider is creating 3 different packages, a basic version-Halo 3 ODST and the 3 new maps, standard version the $60 dollar one, and the limited edition one.

You need to understand that the primary market for Halo 3:ODST is people who either do not have Halo 3, or have Halo 3, but do not have the ability to get DLC maps from the Marketplace. ODST has enough content for people in that market group. For people that already have the DLC map packs, it may not seem like it has enough content to warrant $60, but it does for other people. That's the direction Microsoft decided to take when they priced ODST.
No they didn't, halo 3 is almost 3 years old, its basically free for microsoft now, since they didnt want to sell halo 3 odst because it would be so cheap they might as well add halo 3 and all the multiplayer maps which cost nothing to them (excluding legendary and Mythic maps) and up the price

How has Halo 3 been out for almost 3 years when it hasn't even been out for 2 years yet? You don't seem as smart as you say you are.

I've been reading this thread and I notcied people talking about paying for matchmaking? Does that mean that in order to play the 3 new maps, (Heretic,Longshore, and that other one) I have to pay for the matchaking? Or do the 3 new maps go onto my Halo 3 matchmaking?

This is an expansion not a full game

It started as an expansion. From what I have seen, it has grown into its own game.

I know I'm paying for LIVE already, but concerning the new maps, how will they be played on LIVE? Will they be able to be played when I have the Halo 3 disc in, or will I have to use the Halo 3: ODST matchmaking? If I have to play them with ODST's matchmaking, will I therefore have to rebuy the Legendary, Heroic, and Mythic mappack in order to play all of them along with the new 3 maps?

The ODST matchmaking disc comes with ALL the maps, Legendary, Heroic, Cold Storage, and all of Mythic. Just pop the disc in and you can play on all maps.

  • 06.16.2009 8:03 PM PDT

No the second disc comes with all the map packs created including 3 new ones. You wouldn't need your halo 3 disc anymore.

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.

Your not paying for the old maps. You are paying for the ODST Campaign, Firefight, Reach Beta Key and 3 new multiplayer maps with the old maps as a bonus so you aren't forced to switch your discs.

What? see no value in the new(listed above)? Don't be selfish now.

Anyway:

-Petitions aren't allowed here
-Microsoft made the decision. Complain to them, not Bungie.

2 discs loaded with content is a bundle for 60 bucks. Even if you have played some of the maps, its still good we won't need to switch between discs and its all their in a complete collection on its own little disc.

AHAHA!

54 people signed it!

Face it, it's a good game that many are willing to pay $60 for. If you can't afford it, don't buy it.

A job, get one.

I have started a petition targeted at Microsoft to lower the price tag of Halo 3: ODST, If you feel the price is a little to high then feel free to sign the petition Here

Discuss here why or why not the price showed be lowered.

Update: I know Microsoft well never lower the price, i just want people to understand that you are paying half more for something you already bought and own.

Mate, times are tough for everyone. I'd rather not pay 60 dollars, HELL, i'd rather pay nothing! but it won't happen and its unrealistic and a waste of time to think about it. The world isn't about us, and besides, if you can't afford an extra 20 dollars, then you have problems.

The game comes with more content than halo 3, plain and simple. And when they are accounting for this, Bungie can't make a special price for us who have already bought some of the content. Business just doesn't work that way.

Didn't you see the targeted to Microsoft? No you dont get it either, your paying for another halo 3 disc (multiplayer part) and you dont get your moneys worth, you get a short campaign, 1 muiltiplayer mode, 3 new maps and beta key which is basically free, you are paying for another halo 3 disk, mythic and legendary maps which many people already have. lets put it this way, you are paying $30 for odst and $30 for something you already own

Why do you keep saying the campaign is short? Maybe if you play on Easy, but I bet on Heroic and Legendary it will take A LOT lnger. The new maps would cost about $10 on Marketplace anyway. The Reach Beta is pretty much free. Like I said, many people's Halo 3 discs are nearing death, like mine, and a replacement with a new campaign is a win-win.

  • 06.16.2009 8:28 PM PDT

And for the freakin last time, im still freakin willing to pay $60 bucks for odst and quite telling me to get a job cause i already have one and quite freakin thinking im freakin poor.

I just dont like paying for something i already have, if Microsoft where to make a little race car halo game which game with halo 3 as a "bonus" and the price was set at $60 i bet all of you would of bought it.

  • 06.16.2009 8:29 PM PDT

Some people would. But some people might buy a God of War Racer too. Fanboys will be fanboys. They don't have any weight in this argument. If you don't want ODST, don't buy it. But seeing as how you are buying it, though -blam!-. You get an EXTENDED Camapign thats timeframe will differ from person to person and new maps that would cost $10 on XBLM anyway.

I like halo. I will pay whatever so that halo series will stay profitable. I just want more story. I also don't want too much change in the game because i already know how to play this one. I will gladly pay 60 dollars a pop for more story, anything else is bonus.

  • 06.16.2009 8:32 PM PDT

no its not, its the damn same thing ok heres another example

Lets say Microsoft decides to include halo odst(just the game no extra content) as a "bonus" in Halo: Reach, and they set the price tag to $99, would that be fair to those who already bought Halo odst, To you guys im sure you would be happy to pay for it again right.

  • 06.16.2009 8:34 PM PDT

Because there wouldn't be another option to get Reach, yes. But thats not realistic and thus the argument is a faulty one.

That is paying for two games. With ODST you are only paying for ODST.

  • 06.16.2009 8:36 PM PDT

And the complete halo 3 multiplayer experience, so more like 1 3/4.

Why do you treat everyone who disagrees with you like they are some mindless fanboy/girl? Hypothetical situations have no weight here. You aren't paying for the same thing. You get an extended campaign, a $10 map pack, an invite to the Halo: Reach beta, AND Halo 3's multiplayer in a $60 bundle. Don't like it? Tough. Don't buy it if you do not want it. The vast majority of us will play it. Now if Bungie pulled a Ghost Recon deal and offered old maps as new maps for like 800 point, then you would have a point.

No your wrong, you are also paying for Halo 3, if microsoft decided to sell halo 3 odst with halo 3 for free then they might as well sell there halo 3 game for free right.
