ok.
the ark was 2.5 the radius of the galaxy away from the galactic center(according to 343). thats 150000 light years, or 2.939315x10 to the 18th power miles away from the center of the milky way. if was traveling at 100mph, it would take him a good 340 million years to get close to the center. if he was traveling at 1000 mph, 34 million. hell, if he was traveling at the speed of light, he wouldnt get to the center for 150000 years, and cortana would be rampant enough to not wake MC up. now i know that earth is 2/3's of the way out from the GC, but still, thats a long time.
mc isnt going to reach.
(also, if you find an error in my caluculations, tell me. i didnt double check. or even single check really.)
You calculations are all irrelevant because the aft portion of Forward unto Dawn made a Slipspace jump away from the Ark. There's absolutely no telling where it ended up through any sort of mathematical calculation. Even if we knew anything specific about the Dawn's intended jump vector and the conditions at the time the jump was made, Slipspace is a fictional device that is not governed by real-world physics.
