Subject: Something Interesting about the Comics.

So I was looking at halopedia and they have a bunch of info on the comics that have previously come out. They also have some info on ones coming out in the future. Now in the past it has gone:
Comic Prequel - Game:

Uprising - Halo 3
Helljumpers - Halo: ODST

Now there is another comic due out in the future called Spartan Black. It is supposed to come out right before Halo Reach. Also, what really made me interested was the fact that the comic is set before Halo 1. It is about a small squad of Spartans.

Set before Halo 1.
Small Squad (like the silhouette we see)
Follows the comic:game timeline.

Now I know Halopedia can be kind of iffy when it comes to facts but I was just wondering everyone else's opinion on this? Anyone else think this could be a possible link or have anymore info?

it doese'nt look nextgen , looks good but not nextgen
If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

Good find. Personally i find those comics to be a bit messed up.

Good find! But did anyone think "Sexy Back" when they read "Spartan Black?"

Thanks guys. Honestly I really wanted to believe the idea that everyone was from the book. I read the other topic hoping that it had Fred, John, Linda, Kelly, and Sam all as the 5 in the silhouette.
Honestly, I still hope that is it but I mean this is just a very interesting thing I saw. The comic:game line just really made me think about it.

Good call on connecting Black and Reach. 5 figures on the banner, 4 normal looking. 4 Spartans in Black. 5th big figure could be Noble 1? I'm willing to entertain the theory they could be connected. Thanks for giving me something to think about.

Why are they wearing Mark VI if it takes place before Reach falls?

Hmm. Damn, that just about scraps that theory...

[Edit] Why didn't I catch that?

It says it's before Reach, but it can't be. Something's not right here.

Crap! Now I have to read it to find out!

Actually they are wearing Mark IV. It is explained in the interview on the link.

I am assuming that you are talking about the comic. Do you mean the comic or the game?

Found it...just a second

The Mark VI armor seen on Black Team has caused a stir of debate recently, mainly due to the Master Chief only getting his Mark V just a couple days before the Invasion of Reach. Are they sort of a test group for the latest kit made by ONI techies?

As an "off-the-books" unit secret even from the other SPARTANs, Spartan: BLACK has access to experimental enhancements, weapons and armament directly from the ONI high command, and therefore resist rigid classification. So the simplest answer would be "yes."

Frank O'Connor gave me an edit on the armor. "One addition. The BLACK team is wearing prototype armor out of Songnam, Korea. Hence the non-conformity of its appearance. It's neither Mark V nor Mark VI - but rather a skunkworks prototype.

I think you should think on other things.

A soldiers sacrifice is never forgotten

Nice find, this is quite interesting, quite interesting indeed.

I think it is a definite connection to the game. Now it says that this Spartan team joins forces with a Covenant squad to battle a bigger enemy. I really, REALLY hope they are not trying to include the Flood in this game too like they did in Halo Wars. I felt like they included the Flood in that game "just cause" and it was really stupid in the storyline (not that it was too great before the Flood arrived anyway).
