Subject: Push it Back to 2011

Have you people heard of a deadline.
microsoft gives Bungie a Deadline to finish their work.
Even if Bungie wanted to push it back, they can't
Remember Halo 3.
How they took levels outs, for lack of time.

Except Microsoft doesn't own Bungie anymore.

Either way, to the OP, do you know exactly how long they've been working on Reach? For all you know they've been working hard on it for the past two years since Halo 3 came out, and it's further along than you think.

Halo 2 wasn't complete and to their standards, Halo 3 was the same way. I'd rather have a complete game than an unfinished one. Bungie could learn something from companies like Blizzard.

Monkey see, Monkey shoot.

Terry Pratchet - The Best.

Fable 2 took four years.....yet look how sh*** that turned out compared to what it was ment to be.

Time does not = better games for all companies, Yes they should not rush but it is easy to get stuck in a rut where you are constantly putting off releasing it.

I think that the caliber of Gaming is brilliant today. 3-4 years for making a Game is plenty.

There for I think Bungie should stick to their deadline unless, there is something that they truly have to extend to make the gmae just that little bit better.

I was Happy with Halo 3, Halo 2 was fine apart from the horrid ending....

And so I say that Bungie and MG Studios know best.

-You look like you could suck a golf ball through a waterhose.

I heard somewhere that Halo 2 and 3 were supposed to be one game ( they would've still made another game) but they cut off Halo 2 with such an abrupt ending that probably irritated most people but they ended up making more money because if what I heard is true then they basically sold 1 game at two different times for the same amount of money.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

To be completely honest, I kind of agree. Halo 2 was a disaster because of the time constraints MS placed on them. They said that Halo 3 was a different story, and that it wouldn't be shipped until it was ready. But then we found out that more campaign levels were cut, again, due to time constraints.

I want Reach to be what it SHOULD be, and I don't care if I have to wait an extra year to get it.

It is also annoying to hear from Bungie at the time of Halo 2 and 3's release, that both games were exactly how they wanted them, yet a year or two later they say that they both weren't done.

  • 06.17.2009 2:26 PM PDT

if it were only that easy. I don't think bungie will kick an unfinished product out the door.

Yet they've done it twice already...

Some of you suffer from poor reading comprehension.

Halo 2 suffered from certain failures to manage the studio properly. Bungie was growing very fast and that's a tough thing for any company. The end product was affected and they did have to release it before they were fully satisfied.

Halo 3 did not experience any of these issues. Bungie released a product they were happy with. The game was not shipped unfinished or poorly tested. Scaling back the scope of features is a normal part of any production and DOES NOT indicate that the game was released unfinished.

Halo 2 and 3 were NOT meant to be one game. Some people do not understand the formula of a Trilogy. The First story introduces the characters and setting, the Second story ends on a cliff hangar and the Third story resolves the conflicts. Halo 2 ended on a cliff hangar on purpose, NOT because Bungie ran out of time.

Impossible isn't a fact its an opinion

I completely agree with you when you say push it back for quality reasons and i say that too, but it does take allot shorter time to make games now than it used to so they could get it out for 2010 if they really wanted to but, 2010 being there first estimate i think it'll more than likely get pushed back to very late 2010 verging on 2011 if not in 2011. And i wouldn't worrie about the quality from Bungie your always guaranteed good stuff from them

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

Halo CE, H2, and H3 all had their flaws but they were really good for the most part. Assuming Bungie has learned from their few mistakes, I don't see why Reach needs any extra time to be made. Oh, and contrary to popular belief, they didn't just start making this game. It's been in the works since H3 was released. (I can't remember where, but somewhere Bungie called this one of their "Full-length 3 year projects")

Why stop there, push it to 2012 to make it extra super-duper good.

But if it got pushed it to 2013 it would be even more awesome.

No, I want Reach to be uncomparibly good, push it to 2020, if bungie works on it for 11 years it has to be great!

We'll call it Halo Reach Forever.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I honestly think they've been working on this game since Q4 2007... But that could just be me. So 2010 is I believe, more than enough time.
