-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I always used to play it at a friend's. One day i went over and he said "hey, I got Halo."

Yes, I'm a furry. And yes, I like men. So what?

I was searching for another Bungie game after playing Marathon and Myth. I Googled them, and a page came up about a "revolutionary new game" that was "nearing completion".

A More Complete Compendium of a Bungie History
-Thanatos 117

Funny story, I was all into Gamecube and in anticipation for its release. I was playing Goldeneye, Starfox, Perfect Dark, Mario 64, etc. and I never got into anything Playstation had so I thought Nintendo would be ontop of the competition again with more great games. Boy was I dead wrong. And my Dad was determined to prove it to me that Microsoft was going to destroy the competition. So he bought Xbox and Halo the day it came out for me and the rest is history. It wasn't until a few months later I started to become a fan of Bungie itself after finding out the company behind this game was the same behind two of my other favorite series: Myth and Marathon. Happy coincidence.

Pretty similar here. Was always a Nintendo guy, but, my wife was working for Microsoft when the Xbox launched. So we got one, couple of promo games came our way, and Halo was one of them. Hadn't heard of it, wasn't expecting anything...but by T&R, I was absolutely blown away.

Felt bad when I took the control room - thought that might be the end of the game. The leap from the 64 to Xbox was just...so immense. You didn't know what to expect in terms of game length, or anything. (Thankfully my wife didn't know what to expect either, or I'd probably have a crappy Gamecube still.)

It was one of my first console games. X-Box was my first console.

I was sold almost instantly.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Wow.

Released in 2001 and STILL has more superior gameplay and more replay value than the modern First Person Shooters being released today. Truly is one of the supreme games of our lifetime.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Ahhh, brings me back. I've been gaming since the tender age of 4, back in the Atari and Nintendo days. Growing up with that type of gaming backround, and having a deep hatred for the PC gaming world, I was one many that felt MS needed to stay out of the home console arena, that nothing good would come out of their console. The mother of a friend of mine expressed that my friend was interested in the box, so we all chipped in (our meager highschool job paychecks) and got him the console, while his mom purchased him a few games.

About 8 months go by, as far as I can tell he loves it, but I refuse to try being the Sony and Nintendo diehard that I was. Not to long after I started my first year of college, he tells me I need to try this game. He brought it over to my house one weekend, and we played for 34 hours straight (bad, I know). Three days later on my way back from school I picked up the console, an extra contorller and Halo. My dog destroyed the case (origional holographic one!) but the game still works fine.

I recall that I was with my friend, we were both really young at the time and he told me he had a game where you could drive a warthog of a cliff. I was like whats a warthog? Then he said you could also kill yourself and for some reason that made both of us laugh.

A friend of mine once told me about a game.. something not really clearly but he ended up saying.. In the middle of the game, it gets really creepy, aliens are slaughtered, and you end up seeing a guy which starts shooting you, cause he got mad... I got scared and had to quit.

I was like LOLZ. Ima get that game and laugh at you. And so I did, I didnt have any idea this was the best game of all time... yet.

I probably would have become a Sony fan (had the PS1 :O), but I think Halo single handedly turned me to the Xbox. It also got me hooked on FPS. The only games I played before Halo was just Starcraft...

Combat Evolved's a life-changer :P
