I want them harder again, I'm a 45, and I feel like an average joe player. I mean, considdering 5 levels away from the top makes me feel AVERAGE, it is definitely too easy.

You probably feel average because you play with lots of Brigs at your level.

I hope it's harder again. The highest rank I got in Halo 2 was something like 20 in Big Team Skirmish, and at the time, I thought it was an incredible achievement.

Now i'm a colonel, which seems to be about average for people in Halo nowadays. I'm only 10 Levels away from the top and i'm pretty much average. Yeah, something's wrong there.

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher regard those who think alike than those who think differently.

Most people should feel about average at their own level because Trueskill in matchmaking (yes, unranked matchmaking also) ensures that you'll be matched against people of similar skill to yourself.

There are obvious misses where the matchmaking system needs to pull together 2 team of dissimilar skill in order to expedite the matching process but in most cases you're playing against people who are the same level as yourself.

If you dominate another team it's much more likely that they're suffering from lag than it is that you're truely awesome. If you're consistently undefeatable then you're consistently bringing lag. Even moreso if you always play with a team of 8 in BTB. The chances of a group of randoms getting a non-laggy game against you is virtually Zero.

Go Rams and Missouri!

We don't even know what type of ranking system this game will have....

I hate to do this (compare cod4 to H3), but I have been playing alot of cod4 lately (with no rank visible, just exp rank) and I kinda like not seeing the rank. So I hope they hide the rank on Halo:Reach...

im Just trying to get more xp on my lone wolves 50 before reach comes out,Thats really the only time I put effort in. Other then that I mess around in social with friends... I use to play pretty seriously, that time has passed....

Yeah but COD is a ladder not a trueskill....wich basically means: the more hours u grind, the higher your rank. I prefer it the other way myself

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

They should hide truskill. It is the root of all boosting, whining, cheating, and bad halo behaviour in general.

Actually, CoD does use truskill. So does pretty much every online 360 game. They just hide it, like I was suggesting in my post.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Getting a 50 in Halo 2 was pretty much impossible.. maybe a small handfull of people did it legit.. the rest modded... getting a 50 in halo 2 was an amazing feat.

Getting a 50 in Halo 3 is still impressive, but not near to the extent as one in halo 2.. the system was dumbed down so that more people could obtain a higher rank...

So what im wondering is, will they dumb it down even more on this new Halo? or will they make it harder to rank up again like in Halo 2? Or will they just keep it the same.. Your thoughts ?

I would like to point out that getting a 50 in H2 was made as difficult as it was due to the cheaters and de-rankers, which Halo2 was a breeding ground for. If you played the game legit, with no glitch exploitations of any kind, it was practically impossible.

Halo3 was easier because they fixed a lot of the crap that was made prominent in Halo2, but it is still difficult to get it legitimately, though not nearly as hard as it was in Halo2.

Personally I could care less about this aspect of the game, as I never judge these games by their MP. The single player experiance has always taken front row for me, and this game is no different.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

To be completely honest with you, I sincerely hope that they decide to hide TrueSkill in Reach. The expansion of rankings in Halo 3 has only divided its community.

The only thing that would change is that you wouldn't get trash talked before the game because of your low level, but after the game for playing bad.
You really think this would change much?

No, I don't. Trash talk will always happen, and that's a given. But by eliminating visible true skill, you eliminate boosters and rank cliques, which will help clean up the forum community, and yes, help run down egotistical players in MM, noticeable or not.

People would no longer complain about "rank lock" or leveling up in general, etc.

It's an unnecessary statistic.
