Subject: Visual Lock-On Indicators in-game

I had a thread that got a lot of replies on the same topic, but it seems to have been purged. It was a 2008 thread, IIRC. Anyway, I am hoping there is enough time in development to implement added visual indicators in Halo: Reach. For example, I am deaf, and enjoy Halo 3 as much as the next person. When I drive a warthog, a Banshee or any vehicle that the missle pod can lock onto, I am unaware of the lock on often until its too late to do anything about it.

Having visual indicators in-game not only benefits a deaf player, but some players who play with the sound off when other people in the same household or room are sleeping.

I would also like to give a thumbs up to Bungie for making Halo 3 very acessible for a deaf person like me, with plenty of visual indicators telling me what is going on and where.

Don't see why not.

Seems reasonable to at least add as an option to the game, like toggle crouch and voice communication. I see no reason why not.

This is definitely an idea that I would like to see in game...

Great suggestion Smith. I supported the previous thread and will do so again.

"If buttered toast lands buttered side down, and cats always land on their feet, then what happens when you attach buttered toast to the back of a cat?

I could see it, maybe like a flashing red light at the bottom of the screen like that or something. But then again all these little kids who don't need it could still turn it on and use it to basically make the missile pod or other weapons like that obsolete in multiplayer, more so than they already are. For someone that actually needs it though, sure.

make xbox live cost more

it will cut down on the 12 year olds

why would a visual indicator make the missile pod useless?

you aren't gaining any more information than what is already available, there is zero advantage and it should be implemented

Good thinking bringing this back up! They should be early enough in development to add this feature in. That is assuming, of course, that a weapon such as the missile pod is in Reach. Of course, even if there isn't, it may cause them to consider adding visual cues for any audio only warnings. Here's hoping!

I'm all for this. I'd hate to think I beat a team only because they couldn't hear the missile pod.

I think that's a great idea and I fully support it.

Nice suggestion Smith, hopefully this can get added to the game.
