Disregard Females, acquire currency.

ya it may only be 6-8 hours but the map is huge its not a straight foward campaign like all the previous halos so every one saying vid master achievments like " complete the campaign with out firing a single shot or something like dont use a single health pack" its completley diffrent youll run into enemies around a ton of corners and if you never use a single health pack or fire a single shot ur not going to make it to the end of the campaign and also when you do co-op its going to be like halo 2 co-op/split screen its going to be a bunch of clones of the rookie running around new mombasa

Ya im excited to see a different campaign form bungie. The campaign is kind of short, but ill be spending lots of time just exploring the city.

The search bar is like a DMR.

Anyone can use it effectively if they try.
Smart people do use it effectively.
Idiots don't, then complain about how it doesn't work.
The only problem is that, the DMR is used in Reach, but the search bar isn't used in the Reach forum.

Maybe they'll have more characters that are only playable in 4-player co-op.

I'm excited at the fact it's free roam. It's going to add at least 3 times more hours spent then Halo 3. Kinda like how once you beat GTA, you kinda just run around causing mayhem.

Speciality: MLG
Weapon: All
Mental Stability: None

I cant wait for it but people are ignorrant and think it isnt worth a normal games money worth

Mmmmm, Cheese....

The campaign is more interesting than the other Halo's. ODST lets you run around freely unlike the others which you have to follow a certain path. I enjoy games with the same type of settings.

The strongest Rivals are also the strongest allies.

isnt halo 3's only 6-8 hours long?

  • 06.17.2009 6:14 PM PDT

Is it really considered free roam? Or is it just a non-linear campaign? I mean can you go back and just explore the city once you complete the campaign or do you have to start a new one? If you have to start a new one, then I don't think it should be considered a free roam game.

Mmmmm, Cheese....

You bring up a good point, what I believe is that you can go everywhere but you still have to go to the mission areas.

I get what your saying but what ever floats peoples boats right. And how it is like Halo 2's campaign. It would make sense because there is more than 1 ODST.

You don't know that everyone in cooperative campaign will be the Rookie. That hasn't been announced. Also, what would happen when you went to... say... Dutch's flashback? Would you all be clones of the Rookie still? I doubt that the characters will be able to change, and all Rookies in every flashback wouldn't make any sense.

I believe one of these will happen for campaign 4 player

1- like h3's campaign, 1st player will be rookie, 2nd will be someone else, ect ect

2- VERY UNLIKELY LIKE %99.999999999999999999999ect UNLIKELY but you can choose your campaign player, such as DARE or someone, and someone has to be rookie... AGAIN I HIGHLY DOUBT THIS WILL HAPPEN

Or it is going to be one Rookie and 3 Marines... that's the most intelligent way to do it.

But better, no kind of actual consequence because there's no police, there's enemies to kill, that's it, just you and your main foes.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I'm glad there's a new campaign. I love open-world games, they're my favourite. I am looking forward to it, I wasn't initially going to buy ODST until I heard it was open world.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

Uh.. we, we know... But idiots don't... And I don't really know if it is eight hours of straight gameplay... I mean sure you could play it for eight hours, but I don't think the expansion is that long. I may be wrong though. I think it is around 4-5 from what I've gathered.
