From what i've read, Natal isnt a console itself, rather an xBox 360 add on. Halo Reach could be made in use for Project Natal. Its beta is already scheduled to release on the 360, which means you could use a controller to play, but the actual game wont release till next fall, so the game is still open to the Natal.

Why would Bunie make anither first-person shooter? The already have ODST on its way and we have played the Halo trilogy, so change sounds good. Change was good with Halo Wars, so why not an up-and-moving Halo game?

No. Reach has a seasonal release date. Natal doesn't even have an ETA.

The article clearly states that it is nothing more than a personal speculative prediction, and that none of his predictions are based on outside information from true sources.

Also, Frank O'Connor alluded to the idea that Chronicles was either no longer happening, or on hold. Wingnut Interactive later confirmed that Chronicles was shelved.

Reach has already been confirmed to be a FPS, and there's no useful way Natal could work in a game like this.

Do you happen to have a source for that statement? I've heard it a lot recently, but I never heard where it came from.

On "hold", not the same thing as canceled. It's due to Natal still being in production. It's kind of hard making a full featured game for a technology that isn't even completed yet, isn't it? Think before you speak, kiddo. This doesn't rule anything out.

How ironic.

"Shelved" means "on hold". I never said it was canceled. You really need to take your own advice.

The point of my response was to provide a better understanding of the situation, which to be quite frank with you, leans in the direction of Chronicles not being produced at all given Frankie's initial comment on the status of Chronicles:

There was a question about working in games and movies to tell a story and he made a joke about how movie makers should not make games. I asked if that was a reference to Peter Jackson's Wingnut Studios and their announced but notoriously absent interactive Halo project. He said "No let's just say that Weta makes awesome special effects and let's leave it at that".
Also, when a new system or mechanic is built, it is built in lieu with new games in order to calibrate their development to one another as well as have available games to release with its initial launch. Do you honestly think that they're going to finish Natal and not release games with it?

For crying out loud, Lionhead is already working on "Milo", which, in case you didn't know, is a video game title, and is probably the biggest "thang" about Natal thus far. Of course they're developing the games alongside it. To assume that Chronicles was put on hold in spite of this is ridiculously unfounded.

As far as we know, Chronicles is shelved, and we don't know why. Could they be lying to us? Of course they could... anything is possible. But we have no reason to assume such.

Don't come here acting smug when you are the one who is clearly ill-informed.

Oh, well that's too bad. I was really interested to see where they would take the franchise. Although, I doubt they would put a project as big as Halo on hold unless it was for a really good reason, so maybe it's for the best.

No, I don't believe it will.

However, to counter the "NATAL WILL KILL FPS'S! -blam!- MICRO$OFT" argument, NATAL is more than just a motion recognition system.

VOice recognition anyone? Can you imagine the RPG value?

I'm hoping that it comes off the shelf at some point. The way the project was explained sounded like it would have been my favorite Halo project thus far. I'm a huge fan of the canon, moreso over the stories and experiences given in the games, in fact, and so an interactive movie experience would have been right up my alley.

Hopefully it still will be.
