Wingnut Interactive later confirmed that Chronicles was shelved.Do you happen to have a source for that statement? I've heard it a lot recently, but I never heard where it came from.
Source
On "hold", not the same thing as canceled. It's due to Natal still being in production. It's kind of hard making a full featured game for a technology that isn't even completed yet, isn't it? Think before you speak, kiddo. This doesn't rule anything out.
How ironic.
"Shelved" means "on hold". I never said it was canceled. You really need to take your own advice.
The point of my response was to provide a better understanding of the situation, which to be quite frank with you, leans in the direction of Chronicles not being produced at all given Frankie's initial comment on the status of Chronicles:
There was a question about working in games and movies to tell a story and he made a joke about how movie makers should not make games. I asked if that was a reference to Peter Jackson's Wingnut Studios and their announced but notoriously absent interactive Halo project. He said "No let's just say that Weta makes awesome special effects and let's leave it at that".
Also, when a new system or mechanic is built, it is built in lieu with new games in order to calibrate their development to one another as well as have available games to release with its initial launch. Do you honestly think that they're going to finish Natal and not release games with it?
For crying out loud, Lionhead is already working on "Milo", which, in case you didn't know, is a video game title, and is probably the biggest "thang" about Natal thus far. Of course they're developing the games alongside it. To assume that Chronicles was put on hold in spite of this is ridiculously unfounded.
As far as we know, Chronicles is shelved, and we don't know why. Could they be lying to us? Of course they could... anything is possible. But we have no reason to assume such.
Don't come here acting smug when you are the one who is clearly ill-informed.
