You want to punish Bungie for a decision made by Microsoft. STFU, and GTFO. Now.

yes

grow a backbone bungie...and if youre going to be MS' little lap dog then take the backlash like the good little -blam!- you are
Lapdog? What exactly do you think the relationship between Bungie and Microsoft is?

From what you are saying, it looks like you are suggesting Bungie stop doing what Microsoft tell them. That's a great idea. Then Bungie's games won't be released on Microsoft's console any more.

But that's fine, Bungie can release all their future games on their own console. No...wait...

rofl

yes im sure MS would not release a halo game

oh sony has killzone and infamous and uncharted and god of war and heavy rain and MAG and all these amazing exclusives but where not going to release ODST bcuz bungie is being bad

We don't need a rule for every single freaking thing someone thinks is spam.

When you make a multi-million dollar franchise, you can decide when to kill it.

'Till then, you can keep you business advice to yourself.

pens win teh CUP, what are you trying to get out of this post? i understand your not happy with the price of Halo 3: ODST but if your trying to get a real point across then you shouldn't be replying to people with trollish and childish posts.

and there is a simple solution to your problem, if you think its to expensive then don't buy it, wait awhile and the price will go down, you will also be able to find second hand versions of it for much cheaper. there is no need for this behavior

im not rebuying stuff ive already spent 20$ on

theres too many quality titles coming out this fall and bungie is risking a major drop in population to games like MW2 and bioshock 2

Risking? How are they risking it. Halo 3 odst will sell perfeclty. Halo 3 odst can have better sells then those games.

>>: [Welcome to Dr. Grey's domain.]

i hope this game single handedly tarnishes the entire halo franchise....well no doubt it will....halo is officially milked when youre releasing stuff like ODST as a "full" priced game
The scope of the game changed quite considerably during development. It's much larger than was anticipated, and is much closer to a 'full game' than an 'expansion.'

Halo was created as a story which was designed specifically for the potential to make money. You cannot say they are 'milking it', since the entire series was designed to be a money making venture. The fact so many people are rabid fans is merely a bonus to sales.

Massive backlash from the gaming media? ODST, at the very least promises to be a fairly good game with great replay value. Your wish will not come true. Maybe, apart from the 7's part. Because when they grade a Bungie game, it must be of a scale of 1-7. And Bungie always scores perfect 7s.

Oh and the price? Oh, you're so miffed about having to pay 10 dollars more than your 'american' counterparts. Well, the currency may share the same name, but not the same value. It was always going to be more expensive for others. By the way, I have to pay a full hundred dollars for it. Be glad you're lucky enough that you don't have to fork out that much.

Anyway, you're obviously just here to get a row from our replies. Yeah, that's known as trolling. But, it doesn't matter seeing as no one cares what you're talking about, and you're probably going to receive a banhammer to the face.

We can always hope. Mostly every 12 year old kid who complains about something new to the series and it's price always gets the game out of pure curiousity.

it wont out sell MW

and theyre risking it by lowering the number of copies of ODST sold

its guaranteed that this game will sell less at 60 then it would at a reasonable price

Look, kid, get off the forums and go play some Halo 3.

So what if you don't like ODST, just don't give a -blam!- like the others like you. It's just a damn game that you'll forget by the end of the year. It's not even a BIG DEAL at all.

Hope I don't start another sub-sub useless fight between us. Do as I listed above and you won't be gang flamed by everyone above me here.

  • 06.18.2009 1:56 AM PDT

It's perfectly simple. DON'T BUY IT. Yes, the pricing is retarded. Yes, I don't want to pay full price for what was described as an expansion. But no, it isn't the end of the world, it isn't going to affect anything in the long run, and ODST will still be a good game regardless of the pricing that Bill Gates and the rest of the money-grabbing gits over at Microsoft decide to thrust upon it. Chill out. If it really is that unbearable, just wait a few months for the price to go down, or get a pre-owned version later on. Christ, don't you have anything more important to worry about other than the pricing of a video game? Relax.

  • 06.18.2009 2:10 AM PDT

That won't teach Micro$oft a lesson.
Did overselling the 360 without properly building it, leaving 20% of consoles to get the RROD and costing a dip in their profit margin of $1.15 billion teach them? No, and neither will this.

i do

i hope it sells HORRIBLY

that way MS and bungie will get it thought their heads to never pull a stunt like this again

60$ for an expansion(oh sorry 70$ bcuz apparently Canadians need to pay 10$ more than americans).....go -blam!- yourself

i hope theres massive backlash by from the gaming media too when the reviews start to hit and 6s and 7s start to pop up

i hope this game single handedly tarnishes the entire halo franchise....well no doubt it will....halo is officially milked when youre releasing stuff like ODST as a "full" priced game

Actually the game originally started as an Expansion which would only be sold at half the price, but then Bungie decided to add a large amount of extra content which gave the game a much longer playing time.
Originally bungie were going to just sell ODST as a 5-6 hour campaign with the Halo 3 maps put on the same disc. But now the price has gone up because bungie have made the game much bigger and I think the new idea of progressing through the game finding clues is just genius. Also Bungie have added Firefight which fans have been asking for for a long time and it looks amazing.
Even if you've already bought the map packs you'll still get Heretic, Longshore and another map.

If you want the game to do so badly then just don't buy it and miss out on the new campaign and firefight which look amazing

Even though I will buy the game, and hope that many people do, I have to agree with OP.

Bungie.net only holds a fraction of the whole Halo population, meaning that whatever goes around in here goes unnoticed by a big percentage of the people that bought Halo 3. rhis is important because look: When we (we as in people at bungie.net) heard the news that ODST was 60$ we were immediatly shocked, not knowing what to think. So then we headed to the forums wondering what the hell was going on. Microsoft explained that the game had the mighty great Firefight and had lots of maps which accounted for its overpricing. Bungie then told us (what they always tell us) "Microsoft owns us" and most of us just dropped the fact that the game was being overpriced.

However, all those (non-bungie.net) people that have no clue why MS/Bungie is overpricing the game will most likely not buy it at all. Why? Because we're in a time called "Economic Crisis" (which gave the Gaming Biz a pretty hard uppercut). This "economic crisis" mostly affects 20+ year olds but lets be real here.. Halo's average age demographic is not 20+...

ODST won't do as well as other titles. That's a fact.
