Yeah because ODST is going to use a mode that got used before ODST came out, so ODST is totally ripping off GoW 2. Besides TONS of the community members have been asking for a mode like that for a LONG time. And they finally get it. And guess what? Once they get it they complain... Typical.

Wow, so i guess if some game does a certain mode before another game does it, than i guess the other game is copying that one. Good point.

Thats just like people saying MS copied the Wii by using avatars.

All ignorant idiots.
Paying for a 2 year old multiplayer and a campaign shorter than H3's is what annoys me, it is only half of a new game.

It's simple. Very simple. Don't buy it.
But people are still allowed to talk about their disapproval of the game.

dont worry hes just a butthurt fanboy

Ok first off Bungie themselves said this wouldnt cost the same as a Xbox release title. Bungie themselves called this a expansion. When has an expanison cost as much as the original game? This should cost around 40 dollars in my opinion
Ok, lets see what all we get.

Disc 1

NEW Firefight mode (that totally wasn't ripped off Gears of Wars 2's Horde Mode)

Bunge did steal it. Even though Bungie members had been asking about it doesn't magically make it appear. Gears of War listened to what other gamers said and gave it to them. Now of course Bungie will put it's own tweak on this, but it still isn't an original idea.

And Microsoft blatantly stole the Avatar idea. And once more, since they gave us some free add ons to it, they think that people should have to pay for the future ones, once that idea goes through. Besides the big heads, the Avatar is one of the most completely unoriginal ideas Microsoft has even ha.. I mean stolen.

Yeah they stole it because GoW totally invented that type of mode.

Damn you bungie you thieves!
Well fine then, if Gears of War 2 weren't the first people to use that idea then tell me. Please?

I'm a fanboy too, but I still don't think this is the right price.

$60 is fine.

I just wish people would stfu about it.
In what universe? I don't want to rebuy half of Halo 3, along with maps I already bought.

I'm fine with rebuying half of Halo 3, because my disc is so scratched it glitches frozen for about 4 seconds every so often. Which is not fun in a BR or Sniper fight, let me say.
$60 is fine with me.
It's all the other games I'll be getting that season that will be the problem for price, though.

Bungie.net is used by people from all over the world, when ever saying a amount that isnt a static figger around the world you need to say whos currency your using.
example
$60 us
$60 aus
$60 ca

Mate, its no where near 60 bucks for Aus, its $99.95

Well that's good for you and the whole other 3 people that didn't buy the maps. I don't think it would be that big of a deal if Bungie hadn't made us buy the maps in order to play most of the playlists. Now we get to rebuy them.

But I did buy the maps.
I only talked about a scratched disc you tart.

And I personally don't care if other people are going to -blam!- about paying twice for maps. The original map packs hardly contribute in the escalated $20. So suck it up and deal with it that you have to pay twice for maps, like I and everyone else do. Everyone was happy when ODST was only a campaign and cost $40. Even with all the other extras it comes with now, people are outraged at the increase. I think they're just looking for ways to justify their anger.

Galaga
Galaxian
Space Invaders
Centipede
etc.

lol in a way I'm messing with you and in a way its true

  • 06.18.2009 3:24 AM PDT

I can agree to that people don't like to be lied to. But it also surprises me that people are also making this big of an ordeal over $20.
You're getting even more than you did before.
Even if it doesn't satisfy the whole DEVILISH twenty dollar increase, can you not at least admit that Firefight, more theater, and a multiplayer beta covers some of the cost? And if you're an achievement hunter, the game even gives you 500 more Gamer Score than the limit allows, which is worth something.
Yes, it's understandable to angered. But to scream about it like a child is embarrassing to yourself and to the entire community.
Don't complain to Bungie about the price increase.
Go to Xbox.com and complain there. It's Micro$oft who chose to jack up the price.

Many old games had a mode called survival I remember bungie's marathon had one and I believe that all you did there was survive waves of campaign enemies so infact this idea has been around for a long dime and is making a circle back into modern games.

As for the topic ODST can be priced at anything but £40 which is about $60 is fine with me.

thats a 33% price increase

quite substantial

Ratios aren't very impacting methods of measuring when you're talking about small numbers.
If $20 is a big number to you, then I suggest you get a better job.

Wow people are still complaining about this?
If you think the price is too high, then don't buy the game.

Also, if you haven't noticed, Microsoft is a business. They won't go out of their way to accommodate you. All they want is your money.

its not about the amount

its the principal

why would bungie spend big money on reach when people are accepting of sub par products like ODST at full price?

its a slippery slope and one that nobody should be supporting

Don't ask Bungie. Ask Micro$oft.
Bungie doesn't get the say in prices. Bungie said "40", M$ said "No, we think 60."

and so long as everyone is ok with it theyl keep pushing it

maybe they charge 100$ for reach...wheres the limit?

what is the point where people will stop bending over and letting them have their way

It's their business. They get their way, unless sales are low. Then they might consider repricing.

I doubt people would pay beyond $60 because that's a full-game default and M$ knows that.

They may be money whores, but they're clever money whores who'd rather line their pockets than adhere to their consumers. To the amount of people who would still pay, $60 would earn them more money. Any more would earn them significantly less.

Either way, I still like the price, as my long ago earlier statement had been made, I need a new disc. $60 for Halo 3 and ODST beats $40 for just Halo 3.
But your opinion won't make too much impact here. Bungie can't do anything about it.

Perhaps fanboyism?
Inside the community it's fine, but outside the buying numbers will be less than originally intended.
Were it not for my predicament with needing a new disc, I'd be moderately upset with the increase.
I'd still buy it, though. I think $60 is too much money for any game. But I still buy them because I'm too much of a gamer to not enjoy it even for their high prices.
