All well and good if Halo 3: ODST was a new game. But it's not.
All you're getting is a mini-campaign that you'll likely finish in one sitting and never play again, a few new maps, and a new gametype. The only replay value will be in the multiplayer, which is the exact same multiplayer everyone here already paid for. I'm not seeing a $60 value. In fact, even $40 would be pushing it for current Halo 3 owners now that I think about it.
4 Player Co-Op in Campaign + Firefight = Multiplayer. I wasn't talking about the Halo 3 Matchmaking experience.
I'm definitely going to play campaign many times over with friends, because it's an open world and there's plenty of possibilities.
As a standalone game, I wouldn't value it too much higher than the original Halo 3, which is currently $40 considering it lacks the longer original campaign. As an expansion for current owners, a $10-$20 DLC option should be available.
The original Halo 3 is currently $40 because it's been out since 2007. If you want to wait for the Halo 3: ODST price to drop, go ahead and wait a couple years. :)
I think that ODST started off as just an expansion, but Bungie has made it into much more than that. Like I said earlier, had Bungie never referred to it as an expansion and posted a price they'd like to shoot for, most of these complaints wouldn't even be here.
Plenty of people are complaining for the sake of complaining, but I'm not singling anyone out.
No you're not understanding correctly. Its not about bungie saying it was an Expanasion.. Who cares. Its about paying what we already payed for. Why are we paying for something twice?
Tell me.
Microsoft said that the reason its 60$, is because it has Halo 3's multi and all the maps. That's why. Not because the game itself is worth 60$. THEY THEMSELVES said the game itself wasn't worth 60$ without all the other crap they're putting in (which I ALREADY HAVE).
