Actually its going to be an on rails shooter. That seems to be all the rage now a days.

...Given that ODST is open world, I wouldn't be suprised if Reach was more open world than Halo 3 where there are optional objectives and routes.

It has the same terrains as Earth almost. It's basically a second Earth. Oh by the way I am not a nerd. I simply like the story of Halo. It's not going to be open world. They used that for ODST where there were no objectives except to find out what happened to your squad and you were also in a city. The battle of Reach has objectives like saving the planet not wandering around and solving a mystery.

and how!

I can guarantee you both that no open world game will use Natal and that Halo: Reach will not use Natal.

My guess is Halo: Reach will have open world portions as well as semi-linear portions.

By the way, capitalizing every word makes you look like a moron.

OR.... it could be an RPG.

yes, it's been confirmed to be an FPS, but so is Oblivion and Fallout 3.

I have some interesting points for this, but i am too lazy to type them at the moment, instead I will find a link leading to one of the threads I typed my theory on.

here
could be an RPG about said spartans who were simply left behind, and their sturggle to survive.

Canon because they are literally MIA.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME GROUP INVITATIONS

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

Reach has lots of fir trees, and it seems to have a lot of forest (not jungles like in Africa, more like in Europe). The only part of the planet not glassed are the Highland Mountains, so its possible that the higher the altitude gets, the colder it gets, and there could be snow in parts.

The Covenant are glassing the world all around so the skies would be gradually changing color from blue to orange, thick with black smoke. The Covenant are also excavating near Menachite Mountain, so its possible that the heavy plasma use would melt the snow in that area.

I kind of wanted an open world environment first... I made a map of the Highland Mountains placing existing locations from the novels and locations invented by me together, but then I remembered how large the Highland Mountains were (dozens of miles across, too big for a game. Crysis was only like in-game 5 miles, I believe) so my idea evolved into this

Without me, it's just "Aweso".

It will probably be open world in the sense that you will be able to choose how you get to an objective, but not in the sense that you will be able to do whatever you want.

It won't be an RPG. In RPG you get to choose what you want to do. This is Halo, you are ordered to go on missions and what to do. If this is the Battle of Reach you won't be chatting up people or exploring the world you'll be fighting the save the planet.

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

He's wrong. A "Sandbox Designer" is someone who designs the elements of the "sandbox" (vehicles, weapons, etc.)
