Subject: HALO REACH SHOULD BE MULTI DVD SET TO COMPETE WITH PS3 BLU-RAY DISCS

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

No.

PS3=fail

COME ON BUNGIE/MICROSFT, SONY'S PS3 CAN AFFORD TO PUT GAMES ON ONE DISC BECAUSE THEY CAN HOLD 25-50GB ON A SINGLE DISC, SINCE XBOX ONLY HAS DVD-ROM GIVE US A HALO CAMPAIGN/MULTIPLAYER WITH AWESOME HD GRAPHICS & AUDIO (DOLBY TRUE HD/DTS-HD MASTER) IN A 3 DVD SET (14GB OF POSSIBILITIES)!!!!!!!

In the end they have about the same bloody content, except on the PS3 it takes up 10 times as much space.

I would be fine with a campaign that was so epic it required 2 discs. But only if it was more than just the battle for Reach. Any game where you know the horrible ending like that shouldnt drag on lol.

though I think we all suspect theres a lot more than meets the eye with the reach story. There will probably be a happy ending with spartans riding off on unicorns......

soooo... yeah 3 discs, why not.

Halo is a Xbox exclusive. Now you might be saying well can't Bungie male it for the Ps3? The answer is no because Microsoft owns the rights to the Halo series and do you think Microsoft is going to sell one of their best if not the best franchise on the 360.

I'm not saying PS3 is superior, all I'm saying is that the technology supported by Blu-Ray discs allows for greater media content thus resulting in better HD and audio within a game. Simple math, 25-50GB > 4.7GB.

Please do not reply garbage, look at a DVD movie compared to a Blu-Ray movie. Because a Blu-Ray disc can hold more data it can store high quality graphics and higher quality audio. It is the same for a video game, the data is stored on the disc; therefore the more content the disc can hold the better. Simple math 25gb-50gb > 4.7gb!

okay, Halo 3 is nearly 7 gigs. i DL'd it to my xbox at one time, that's how much room it took.

and another, Blu-Ray disks can store more information, but the information it stores can be made MUCH smaller in regular definition, or a regular DVD.

a 5 gig movie on a regular dvd is the same as 25 gigs on a movie made for blu-ray.

You obviously no nothing about video. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard "a 5 gig movie on a regular dvd is the same as 25 gigs on a movie made for blu-ray."

Learn about Pixel Ratio, Frame Rate, Video Codec (VC-1, AVC), Resolution, Audio Codec (AAC), Dobly TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio, Audio Fequency, Audio Bit Rate. Then talk to me!

Please do not post if you no nothing about audio/video technology like the poster who said the following: "a 5 gig movie on a regular dvd is the same as 25 gigs on a movie made for blu-ray."

so far, everything you just wrote just makes my post all the more plausible.

quality = bigger when it comes to software.

Dvd= low quality.
Blu-Ray Jesus -blam!- christ this is amazing quality.

Why would you want Halo in regular/lower quality?

The subject of the post is to make the game multi dvds to attain higher quality in video/audio...

Dude I'm trying to be nice, but you are confusing me to death.

Why have higher quality? That's like asking why have an XBOX 360 over a normal XBOX.

New technology, better HD content, greater visuals...The list goes on...

How about halo just stays on Xbox like it always has?

Screw blue-ray. It's fine as it is.

I have yet to see a PS3 game that fills the entire disk (50 gigs) be much better graphics wise or length wise than an Xbox game that fills it's entire disk (7 gigs).

So in other words, your multi disk point is redundant.

Seriously. The Orange box is not even 5 gigs and has nearly as good graphics as your average PS3 game, and most definitely 3 or 4 times as long.

Hell, just Half Life 2 is at least twice as long.

Yea but you don't need to pursue the extent that your mentioning, look at RE5, game looked great on both consoles and fit on one disk for each console. Very few PS3 games make use of that disk space, this is the truth. Movies are an entirely different story all together so please don't use BD movies to support your point.

An FPS that requires two disks for it's campaign is an FPS that flirts with pushing it too far. I love Halo, but the game length has never been the problem, simply the way they have made use of the space in the sequals. The first game (the best IMO) wasn't all that long, quality is better than quantity.

let me tell you a few things.
more space does not = better graphics, for better graphics you need more processing power.
what more space does = is more content spread out in the game (more levels).
also dvd is 8.54gb not 4.5gb like someone (at lest with the dvds used for xbox games)
also the down side with blue ray is the read speed, the read speed is much slower then dvd (this is changing quick with faster models of blue ray but)

All I'm saying or trying to get across is that a single DVD lacks the space for the content I would like to see in Halo Reach. I want 1080p resolution with exceptionally better graphics than Halo 3, I want audio that is of the highest quality like maybe Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio using all 7.1 channels, I want additional content such as a map builder far superior to forge and imagine what else could be implemented. Basically I do not want the game to be sacrificed or limited by the 4.7gb limit on a single DVD. Or maybe I'm just thinking on too grand a scale...

no, it's just you think that something like that takes up that much space.

Far Cry 2 is pretty close to what you just said, the limitations on it are not the disk space, but the processors.

Blame the box, not the disk.

dude the xbox does not have the power for 1080p unless you really want to cut down on the graphics of a game like halo, it just cant be done with the consoles of today.
and your asking for stuff that will just not happen (map builder), i know you might not understand how bungie makes there games but for bungie to pull this off they would have to totaly change the way that there terrain is made and there shadowing system that hey have been working on for years.

Xbox 360 runs on 1080P. has for over a year now.

Finally some people bringing some great points, yes blu-ray read speeds do suck )but we wil be on DVD so...) and yes processing power is a must but you also need the source to process and the source requires disk space. Sorry for making my comparison to Blu-Ray movies, but it is all I could think of at the time, I understand that video files are different than game rendered graphics.
