Hello everyone, I am having an issue with Halo: Combat Evolved. I am currently running Windows 7 BETA, and have Halo installed under Windows XP SP2 compatibility. When I amp up all my settings, it gets very choppy and I have poor FPS.

Hardware is as follows:

AMD Quad Core, 2.1
Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT
2GB RAM

I remember reading somewhere that there is an an issue with Nvidia and AA and Halo. The only way to resolve the issue is to run everything on low or have things turned off which is no fun. Anyone have a similar problem?

No company that uses terms like, head-to-head, man-on-man, action-sack, and mancannon is homophobic.
I supposed that teabagging is.... what, a representation of a new form of colonoscopy?

I found this:
"Halo doesn't support Anti-Aliasing yet -- not many DX9 games do -- so make sure your drivers are set to "Application Preference" so that the card doesn't try to set AA. That will really bog things down."

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Also, try turning off Decals in Video options. Decals seem to make Halo PC run like crap on Vista and 7.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

You are right that Halo doesn't support AA, but you are wrong saying many DX9 games do not also. Even if you turn on AA the game just ignores it now.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

The people responsible for the Halo 2 Vista port were monkeys.
