I'm right 97% of the time. Who cares about the other 4%?

Nobody knows, and we're not supposed to, yet. Patience, young grasshopper.

Um.. Yes.. a lot of people already know the story.

No, no one knows what the hesh the story is except for Bungie employees. The ninjas will kill them if they talk. Be patient. Peace.

Um.. Yes.. a lot of people already know the story.

You're working under the assumption that the game will follow Fall of Reach, and while that would be awesome, an assumption is not absolute knowledge. Thus, nobody knows.

The book covers everything from the beginning of the Spartan program all the way to the destruction of Reach. Since the game is going to involve the battle of Reach... and the book also covers it... Why the hell would the story lines somehow be completely different?

The only difference between the book and game is going to be the perspective. What we dont know is will we play as Chief (the perspective of the book) or as the squad of Spartans on the ground (the much more likely candidate for the game perspective)?

We know the story. Reach gets glassed. What we dont know is will we see it from space or from the ground?

Perspective =/= Story

Perspective = and ASPECT of the story.

I never said the story lines would be completely different. I said that we don't know that the events that took place in the novel will be the events that we play in the game. So, basically, you and I arguing about a point we completely agree on.

I thought you were saying we dont know anything about the story at all. We know that some Spartans are sent to the surface to defend the planet and that the Covenant eventually obliterate the UNSC forces and glass the planet, all except for one small area where a Forerunner facility was discovered. This all happens while Chief is destroying a NAV computer and escaping on the Pillar of Autumn.

I guess what you meant was that we dont know all of the very specific details of those events?

I dunno... I have an OCD for arguments lol.

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

It will probably take place during the fall of the Planet Reach, so check out Halo: First Strike for an idea about when the game is set.

To play or not to play....

Noone knows the Halo story completely. Heck I bet even Bungie don't have 100% final draft of it. The whole story is a work in progress. I have no doubt that Bungie have at least a rough storyline to go by but they can add sub-plots and sides stories galore.

In any case (back on point) the story for Halo Reach. Hmmm well to be honest noone knows for sure. But lets look at what we know so far.

Th game takes place on Reach at least partly at a time when Reach is being attacked by the Covenant. So we have a timeline for at least some of the events in the game whether or not the whole game is in the same timeline is a guess at this time.

We also have those five Spartans in the image with Reach in the background buring or looking rather molten. This group is probably blue team that Master Chief was part of.

Now this is where is starts to get vague. We also have a trailer that mentions Spartan 259 and Spartan 320 (I think that was what she said) so there are Spartans involved. What Spartans and who's is a bit up in the air at the moment.

Hmmm maybe Dr Halsey trained a second group of Spartans or possibly Ackerson had some pet project he unleashed. Ackerson was a crafty and sneaky guy so I have no doubt he has secret projects.

Most likely though the Spartans are part of one of the squads sent to the surface of Reach to protect the generators from Covenant attack. Probably the group we don't read about in the books hence we can pretty much do what we like in game and not effect the story. They probably die in the end anyway. Though noone knows for sure.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I don't know really but my intuition tells me it MAY have something to do with that planet "Reach", but I'm probably wrong.
