Does anyone agree with me? I think the brutes look a little toonier which reminds me of the Left 4 Dead kind of theme...

Either way I love the art style bungie is going with on this one

What the hell is a "brook"?

And I think the art style looks less cartoony. I think the added detail is amazing and the city obviously looks amazing. So I guess I disagree with you a bit. It definitely looks different the stuff shipped with Halo 3 (The newer maps look a bit like ODST). Things also look much smoother.

The Valve and its Source engine have significant differences, there isn't many games you can compare Halo 3's visuals to. It has its own spherical, polished style to it.

Er... Major typo... The brutes look more animated and less of a serious shape, IMO at least

the outline of things after you swith on the visor or whatever its called has lead me to think of L4D

Goodies - Green
Items & stuff - Blue, Yellow

imagining Halo with the L4D multiplayer engine makes your mind boggle

play as the covenant
drop in drop out multiplayer

it use's halo 3 game ingine(spelling?) so it its halo 3 graphics..

They are using the exact character models for the brutes that they did in Halo 3

you realize you can do things in an engine to make it look better than before, that is why the DLC maps are looking progressivly better and better, and why ODST looks better than Halo 3.
Did anyone notice that the human's faces actually look good now!

If you look at a side by side comparison the animation seems different, and the same engine can vary in graphics slightly, also take into account vsir is very L4D like

the animations look the same, exept they seem to have a few new ones, also L4D like? No the outlining things has been in games for a very long time.

Just because L4D didn't start it doesn't mean it can't make you reminiscent of it.
I didn't say they look purely L4D either, maybe 70% Halo 3 30% L4D

my apologies if i missed your topics point, i cant help myself, its been bumping round my brain for ages.

what valve did with L4D multiplayer shold be the absoloute minimum for all shooters that take themselves seriously, not worth bothering if not.

I am confident this is a universal understanding.

the atmospher and art style are nothing alike, besides L4D looks like a suped up original xbox title

L4D wasn't made to compete with shooters, calling it a actual shooter is like calling Cod4 an MMo (major exaggeration) The only thing I like about L4D (I don't have it) that could be applied to halo is the enjoyability of playing as the enemy, and that would be awesome in a halo game
