Subject: Why does everyone want "better graphics"?

Better graphics make for a more immersive gameplay experience, they're very important.

It's not just all about graphics whores and sacrificing gameplay, quite frankly as much as I love Halo 3, I was extremely disappointed in the way it actually looked. I mean really, in a day and age where more and more people have HD televisions, why the heck is it that Halo 3 looks better on a 30" tube television than a 53" HDTV?

All our dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

Davey is beyond any shadow of a doubt that red haired F-Blam!- tryhard that would always keep you from seeing the Deku Tree.

All you stupid -blam!- just put [/thread].
-blam!- grow up and have a proper reason. Stupid geeks.

Wouldn't geek imply intelligence? That post shows no signs of intelligence.

Speaking of which neither does the OP's.
Cussing does not make you sound intelligent kiddo's.

I dont really get why everyone wants better graphics. I think it -blam!-s the game play up. I can understand awesome campaign graphics, but multiplayer is much better with less textures, like halo 1 and 2.

In halo 3 theres so many -blam!- textures the enemies blend in and its hard to make them out some times. In halo 2 you could also make out the enemies. Also the maps on halo 3 are full of -blam!- and debreit everywhere. So if your trying to run away backwards or something, you get stuck on all the -blam!- -blam!- everywhere then end up dying.

Please make maps easier to more about on, and stop the texxtures mixing the game in to a blur. (Blackout is a classic example of this.)

Wow thats alot of cursing kid

90% of halo 3 is over-textured and shiny

i mean its pretty but not necessary

Halo graphics should be better in my opinion. I think Reach should excel in every category.

Doesn't that kind of add to the challenge of multiplayer? Not seeing an opponent hiding in that shaded area? It's all about awareness right?

I've never had this sort of problem in Halo 3. In Halo 2 at far range on Blood Gulch versus the red team without zooming in, and with the texture pop-in and muddy red textures on the original Xbox I had a problem. Halo 3? No. COD WaW and Call of Duty 4? YES.

The thing your complaining about is essentially void with a nice tv,

Why do people want awesome graphics? Because we do? It makes the universe feel more alive?

I personally really care for nice, lighting, fluid animation, draw distance, neat structural stuff, stable frameratre, and very low aliasing.

Personally, to me, halo 3 is a beautifully and ugly game. I dunno how else to say it. At times it looks amazing, at others, not so much. And it's not about the area as it's pretty consistent, but more to do with myself.

I haven't seen any shiny rocks not in water. Or shiny wood. Everything that is metal, or maybe a few pieces of shiny concrete are shiny and should be shiny. Just be happy it isn't Perfect Dark Zero where EVERYTHING is shiny. They can get away with some bigger lower resolution textures, less polygons and good art design though. Call of Duty 4 and WaW have huge, obvious, lower resolution bump mapped walls on the 360 and PS3, but people still suck up to them for good graphics.

Nothing in Halo is over textured, it won't be either until it's more clear that real life, which, in a way, is impossible because of the size of light waves.
